We all know he's got any LSU fans dream job and he does a great job doing it. A friend and I were discussing it and wondering what do you think that guy makes? I'll hang up and listen...

I thought the dream job would be what Hawthorne does?

Don't know how much he makes but I like him a lot and agree with probably about 98.5% of his commentary. I also really enjoyed the Tiger Zone show after the Georgia game with Detillier as his stand-in co-host. Nothing against Risher but there's no comparison.

All he really does with LSU is a little baseball and football weekends.

His other gig is a radio show which he probably sells ads himself and I would guess around $70,000 to $80,000 for radio show and probably another $20,000 to $30,000 with parttime LSU gig.

Didn't do a search. Didn't think it was such a hot topic.

Wow. Cut those numbers in half and you would be in the neighborhood. Broadcasting has a lot less money in it than most people think at the local level.

That's along the same lines I was thinking along with his few advertising gigs. That's some really good money to basically sit around and talk sports everyday. Like teeMike said I also enjoy his shows and hope he's around for another 15+ years.

CH is without a doubt the best local sports talk guy. He bleeds purple and gold. He is also very unbiased when pointing out flaws and issues. He also despises Bama. Best around in my book. Better than anything nola has to offer.

Those radio shows make more money than you think especially since they are the ones generating the adds and buying the air time.

Not sure how much they make having Ott, Pomansky and Henagrift all together so it may be less since all three have a show together.

It was enough for Jordy to get rid of a lot of his gigs as well.

Yep. I agree. I like Charlie but he can be kinda monotone with his voice sometimes. I think he calls a great baseball game too. He could be the voice of the Tigers in the future for baseball imho.

Worst part of the Saturday night drive back to NO is having to switch from Hanigriff to Deke once you hit Laplace.

Surely you are forgetting about Mr. Bobby "The Cajun Cannon" Hebert. Because he is by far the most knowledgeable and professional radio guy in LA.
