Change our bye date?

Note: this is not a rationalization about why we lost. Rather, I'm wondering if we should change our scheduling strategy.
The past few years, the team hasn't played well in games following a bye or the off weeks leading up to the bowl game. Do you think LSU should re-evaluate taking our bye before the Bama game? It just seems that the team is flat when we haven't played the week prior.

No, fact is we've taken our bye before bama game for years and used to beat them, until bama started taking their bye on the same week

Miles doesn't do anything with the extra week but at least he players can rest up. It's clear the players will have to simply outlay Bama because the coaches won't put them in position to win.

Would've been nice to take it before Western Kentucky this year IMO. Take a break then have a warmup game before Bama. Oh well, that's not the major problem anyways. It's the lack of a competent gameplan that dooms us and that'll never change regardless of when we take our break.

I'd like to move the Bama game to an earlier slot one year, before they get their kinks ironed out. By the time we play they are a machine and we are sometimes dazzled by our own rankings and press clippings (and theirs). They need some heavyweight competition earlier. We need an earlier shot at them. If they are really that great, they won't miss a beat. But I bet they would never agree to a change.

I think the way Bama plays all those teams coming off there bye week has made them much stronger mentally and physically. When there team finally gets a rest during there bye week they are ready (unlike LSU).

Keep the bye but change up November. Bama, Arkansas, Ole Miss and A&M is a one loss month most years. Keep Mississippi in sept. Ole miss, Alabama and Texas A&M is tough in one month. Move Ole Miss if you can. Bama not only takes a bye before us they schedule a small school before Auburn.

Since they aren't using the bye week to fine-tune the offense, does it really matter?
