What a shock, this Barrett Sallee guy is an Aub grad, & picks LSU to lose to both UNC & WVU ...& picks AU over Clempson, UF over FSU big, & UA over PSU barely:

LINK

CFN shouldn't lower their standards of integrity by printing this kind of dribble.

He says we'll lose to UNC Big? UNC's offense really isn't that good. I know their defense is good, but if they win it won't be "big." If our offense gets going this year we'll be the ones beating UNC big.

I'd take "The Chiz" over "The Hat" as my schools coach, at this point in time..

(and BTW, I would not have stated that this time last year)

yeah because he's done such a great job as a hc at any school. i know iowa state isn't he best place to "earn your stripes", but neither is oklahoma state. trust me, i grew up less than an hour from stillwater. that place was a DUMP before les arrived. les may not get much respect and he may not be on the level of saban and meyer, but he's a better coach than chizick.

Interesting comment. In talking with an Okie State grad the other day, he spoke highly of what LM did in his time there, & said he would replace Gundy with LM in a heartbeat.

i was in normn last night and the topic came up. everyone at the table talked about how they hated les, then went on to say "it's probably becuase he beat our arse two years in a row". he get's more respect here than he does in La. granted, i have my concerns but he has a chance to shut people up. let's be honest, losing close games to bama, florida and penn state (all ended the season with 10+ wins) isn't a bad thing. on the other hand it's the way we lost to ole miss, and damn near losing to mississippi state, that has me concerned. i do like the hires he made on defense two years ago and i think bg could be a huge upgrade to the offense, but this year is a "do or die" year for les imo. granted, the schedule is tough but anything less than 9 wins is a disappointment. florida is replacing one of the best players in college football over the last 10, and have huge holes on defense. bama is at home and has some question marks as well. unc will have a great defense, but not much on offense. ole miss is at home and lost a ton as well, and the list goes on and on.

Really? Why? Because he won 5 whole games at Iowa State? Thats impressive. Or how bout that shitty defense that Auburn had last year. Is that why?

when Gene was initially hired at Auburn I was , to say the least, not impressed at all in the hire. In the time frame that he has been at Auburn...he has put together a pretty impressive staff, hit the recruiting trail hard and has pulled in some good talent (which the previous regime had taken a hit on their past few years), with the exception of the LSU game and arguably the Arkansas game last season - AU was in every other game they played with a chance to win late in the 2nd half, last year the team performed about to / slightly above average.

those are just a few of the examples

Even you have to admit that we are currently not quite seeing the same amount of Chizik jokes on this site as we were seeing in August last year....

not talking shite, but that probably has more to do with LSU fans being concerned about LSU and how the season will pan out. "we" very well could be looking for a coach at the end of they year.

Cheesedick was awesome at Iowa State going 5-19 in 2 seasons and the faux Tigers finished 3-5 their last 8 with one of those 3 wins was against mighty Furman last season.

No, he said UNC wins "ugly". I pretty much have it one of three ways - LSU wins big, or either defense wins "ugly", and I base this solely on the athletes available to both teams. However, as a P&G homer, I give us the edge, with either a LSU defensive/ST score, or a go-ahead drive killing turnover being the difference, LSU 24- UNC 20 - each offense with under 300 yards total.

You just named our two toughest opponents, plus another one that has beaten us twice in a row, plus one that is favored over us at the moment in a game to be played less than two weeks from now, basically making the argument that this year is our chance to beat them, yet you'd still be OK with only 9 wins? That means losing four games. What four games should a really good team lose if Florida, Bama, UNC and Ole Miss are having all those problems you are talking about?
