CFN Final Top 10 Rankings
quote:

Considering the Tide starting the season as everyone’s preseason No. 1, this was a disappointment. Considering the turnover on defense, and finishing fifth in the nation in yards allowed, being in the top ten isn’t a bad finish for a three-loss team. The Elite Wins over LSU and Michigan State helped put the Tide in the top ten, but if they had held on against Auburn, they would’ve finished No. 4.

UT folks cry over a loss after the last play whistle - we lost after the goddamn season!!!!

In all fairness to them it was a mis-print instead of Arkansas.

ok...so they count the win by Auburn over Bama as one of AU's elites wins but they don't count LSU's win over Bama as an elite win...

They are very credible. The best, most in-depth college football coverage ever.

However, they are FLAT OUT WRONG about this ranking.

LSU has 1 less loss and a victory of Alabama on the field.

3. Elite Wins - The number of wins over teams that finished with two losses or fewer. Each win counts as 1 with a road win over an Elite team getting an extra 0.5. Also counting as 1 is a road win over a team that finished with three losses or fewer (but the extra 0.5 isn't added). A win over a team that finishes with three losses in a bowl game or a neutral site game counts as one.

So, Auburn's win over LSU is elite, their win over 'Bama is elite. Bama's losses to Au and LSU are elite. But LSU's win over 'Bama is not elite. O.K. gotcha.

How is Arkansas an elite win for Alabama, Alabama an elite win for Auburn, and Virginia Tech and elite win for Stanford?

How can they even THINK that Utah whould be an "elite" win??? They didn't even finish in the top 25! I don't care where they were at the start of the season..they sucked this year.

What a dumb ranking. Of all things how is BAMA ranked ahead of LSU? Ridiculous. Didn't we beat them. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

still counts as an elite win if the team's 3rd loss came in the bowl game

ETA: and Auburn beat Alabama on the road, making it an elite win

I recalculated Bama and LSU based on their formula. Bama is ranked ahead of Bama for one reason...point differential, which is a big factor in their calculation.

[quote]point differential, which is a big factor in their calculation.[/quoteThe (#10)Spartans’ two losses might have been completely and totally disastrous, getting obliterated by Iowa 37-6 and being embarrassed by Alabama 49-7.
