Hopefully he gets Kiffin. Idk why Kiffin would leave Bama

Saban is a hard man to work for...besides, if Kiffin was to turn around another offense like LSU, he would surely get a good HC offer in a couple of years...

So was he a terrible OC at his previous two jobs? I don't really know how good clemson or tamu was back in the late 90s.

I mean i read your whole post on him, but was he a terrible oc at his last two stops? I didn't see that question answered. Anyone know?

So how does a coach go from beating FSU, Louisville and Oklahoma to losing to Navy, struggling against Tulsa and getting his arse kicked by SMU? That would be like saying he beat Florida, Arkansas and Ole Mis at LSU. Disregard the fact he lost to Mississippi State, Kentucky and Vanderbilt. The losses count !!! And to lose to bottom feeders won't make up for wins against against UF, Ark and Ole Miss.

Do that apply for for CEO with all the losses he had too over his career. Do they count too?

No. I can tell you that the answer is no.

Are you really trying to sell Houston beating FSU, OU, and Louisville the same as LSU beating Florida, Arkansas, and Ole Miss?

I would say that FSU, Louisville, and OU are better than the teams you tried to compare them to in your analogy.

To explain further you are making an analogy that the teams UH were not supposed to beat and did is the same as LSU beating teams they are favored to beat.

whatever coach Emsinger did at his previous stops, right now he is tearing it up. He just seems to be the perfect fit for LSU's style of offense., Hopefully we will be able to retain both Coach O and Emsninger

As d line/recruiting and te coach. Sure. I can get behind that with jimbo at the helm.

But what about if Caoch O is retained as HC? I don't think we could afford to lose Coaches Ensminger or Aranda. Also I think Ensminger would do fine as an OC in a Fisher style offense as it is pretty similar in design to Camerons

Hey dumbass that's what he has faced SINCE HE HAS TAKEN OVER THIS OFFENSE! Don't jump to conclusions unless you know the facts.. fact is his offense put up 10 points at half time to a much undersized Southern Miss defense that is ranked 78th in scoring defense.

Hey what can I say: we live and learn. IMO Bebe (or Steve Ensminger) is not the coach he was at Ole Miss and USC. Nothing teaches a man (coach or player) better than the School of Hard Knocks. Having said that, I wish Les Miles had learned from his failures. IMO folks make mistakes....its part of the human condition. But the man who accepts responsibility for his mistakes, learns from them and applies what he has learned in the future.....He be the MAN.

Bottom line.....we got some coaches tested in the heat of battle AND have risen from defeat. The metal was forged and tempered in the crucible of defeat.

I'm betting Bebe, Ensminger, Aranda and the entire coaching staff will lead these amazing young men to the SEC West and SEC Championships.

Anything after that......be gravy!

Agree with this.. He's not someone we should look for on a permanent basis but he can get it done this year. He has enough experience where he's not over his head.

I started thinking about why they are more enjoyable to watch now then they have been in a very long time. Part of it is the offense looking competent for the first time in years.

Missouri and Southern Miss suck, Wisconsin and Auburn don't. That probably has something to do with it.

LSU is still a team that will have a tough time against an opponent with a top-class defensive line. Just like a passing team will have problems against a top-class secondary. It's a team game and much depends on who you're playing that week.

Texas Tech's QB passed for over 700 yards against Oklahoma (!) last week - he was 52-88-1 for 734 yards and 5 TD's LINK. They lost anyway.

Against Arizona State he was 38-53-2 for 540 yards and 5 TD's LINK. They lost that game too.

Yesterday he was 24-39-1 for 206 yards and 2 TD's, including overtime. They won that one, which brings the team record to 4-4. :golfclap: Hey, we're 4-4 but our offense is fun to watch!

It's still a team game. Oh, and how did they do in their bowl game last year? Why, they got pounded into the ground by ... LSU, led by CLM and Cam Cameron. The Tigers had a fine defense and a top run game to go with it, and piled up over 50 points running over them.

Maybe there's a learning curve. Maybe because a guy gets blessed with a bunch of great athletes he's not a great coach. Maybe because a guy had a rough go with a bunch of mediocre athletes he's not a bad coach.

I don't want a young coach though. I was all about Herman. I was down with Fisher (not super young but relatively new to the stud coach conversation). Both of those guys have smelled like cat shite on fire recently. Kiffin? Maybe great O.C. Don't want him as my H.C. I still credit Saban.

I want a guy who's seen some different stuff and has a lot of pools to draw from. I'm not singing O's praises as HC but he is a good coach and I'm not writing him off.

Ensminger- hell maybe he learned something along the way. If ain't broke don't fix it. We'all see Saturday I reckon

Get Herman in here as HC. (He can be his own OC a la Spurrier)

O can stay on as Associate HC, RC and DL Coach.

Ensminger can stay on as QB coach.

Aranda to stay as DC, (Unless he gets a HC offer) then O is the DC.

It's called experience. How many batches did you screw up before you started getting the fries golden brown?
