Will Wade, LSU

Wade left VCU for LSU on March 21 and was able to hold on to multiple recruits signed by former coach Johnny Jones before securing commitments from Tremont Waters (No. 39 in 2017), Mayan Kiir (No. 149 in 2017) and junior college prospect Daryl Edwards. The result? LSU's 2017 class is ranked 16th nationally. And Wade is also off to a great start with the Class of 2018. Last month, he got a commitment from Ja'Vonte Smart (No. 19 in 2018) -- a 6-foot-4 combo guard from Baton Rouge. And he's already had Naz Reid (No. 10 in 2018) on campus for a visit.

Will Wade hasn't coached a game yet, and he's my favorite coach on the campus.

It will be interesting to see how the basketball team looks under better coaching. Of course everyone will be a judge after the first game but i'm sure we'll see an improvement.

He's going to turn this thing around quickly. The house will be ROCKING next year in his first year. That coupled with his coaching/recruiting prowess while these recruits are visiting will have a huge impact on LSUs recruiting efforts. It's going to be fun to watch a basketball game now. That dome will have some energy flowing though it.

I know I'm going to make as many games as I can next year. I want to see this team up close. You can feel the excitement building almost as much as football and baseball seasons. Basketball might pass baseball real soon if not in interest then in revenue for sure. Keep it coming Coach Wade!

I still have Aranda at top. He's the best defensive mind in college football; that says a lot.

It's amazing how in such a short time we go from Johnny Jones with zero optimism (with very good reason too), to Will Wade and we have all the optimism in the world that he will lead us to great things. I'm very looking forward to seeing this team play with (FINALLY!) a good head coach.

I'd argue that Wade's haul is more impressive than Martin's considering Wade didn't hire his recruits' fathers.

Martin won't be able to hire every recruits Dad so the 2 porter kids don't show any long term success in recruiting for Martin.

It is conceivable OJ was willing to stand trial for a loved one, but not willing to actually take the fall and the envelope held the real evidence of who did the killing.

They could get beat by 60 in game 1 and I'll still be 10x more excited about the future of the program vs. where it was at.

Basketball already makes a good bit more revenue than baseball. Even in a terrible season like we had.

No, we like him because for the first time since I watched Shaq dunk, and Chris Jackson juke, I feel like LSU basketball has life back in the program. High energy life that can drive these young men to excel, and not just play. I remember a time when that place was LOUD, and we had a student section not 10 students without anything better to do that day. So much so I actually bought season tickets for the first time ever for basketball. In fact I put the deposit right after his introduction speech I was so fired up.

A lot of new pieces and a new system( was there a system before?). This year the big round ball should be fun.
