"TD pass to an OT... interesting".....

What's really interesting is----it wasn't a pass......

All of those throws were very routine. Canada's offense seems to be very QB friendly, which is exactly what we need. I honestly think Danny can successfully run that style of offense.

Let the athletes do all the heavy lifting, and the QB just needs to do his job and not be a hero and we will have success.

I'm ready to see what our boys can do.

if Clemson can do it and Ole Miss.. LSU most definitely can
Tiger fans don't like it, but that is a completely dumb statement.

LSU isn't remotely as talented right now as that Clemson team that just beat bama. Not even close. Clemson had the best wr in college football and the best college qb. Clemson was loaded with top level talent. LSU just doesn't have that same top level talent that they used to have.

LSU doesn't even have the talent that Ole Miss team had. Ole Miss beat bama bc they had an excellent qb, one of the top receiver groups in the country, and they had one of the top olines in the SEC.

Clemson and Ole Miss beat bama with offense. LSU must beat bama with defense if they are going to win next year, which they certainly can.

No shite, dude. I don't think anyone is claiming that Canada's offense is going to put up 40 on Bama.

The point is that Canada's offense - coupled with LSU's skill players - has a much better chance to beat Bama than LF7 right, LF7 left, and LF7 up the middle.

I think we just watched our offense this year. We will have more talent at the skill positions. That looked like etling in a pitt jersey. I'm pretty pumped to see what our offense does.

I just don't know if a bunch of that sideline sweep stuff will work as much on the faster SEC defenses

It doesn't have to. It just has to prevent defenders from automatically crashing in on the running back.

I loved watching the misdirection. This offense will give opposing defenses a hard time with the misdirection and all the motion. I couldn't tell who had the ball half the time and neither did the camera man. I also enjoyed seeing the ball being distributed around to all the playmakers. In my opinion, I think we will see a lot of D. Williams and Guice in the backfield together. Guice of course being the tailback and Williams lining up as the H back or wing. Playing the role as #35 in the video.

Someone made the comment that you don't beat Bama by lining up and trying to run right at them. That's playing to their strength. You make them think and keep them guessing. Wear them out sideline to sideline.

I love how the middle opens up so easily on the second and third drives after they opened the game with so many jet sweeps. I also think that corners and safeties are going to get tired of trying to bring down Moore and Mouton in the open field on those H-Back jet sweeps. I also see no reason that DE can't make all of those intermediate throws that Pitt's quarterback was making. All of pre-snap movement really makes the linebackers think before being able to drop into coverage.

yep. gus and urban have gashed good teams doing just that. opens up huge runs between tackles when guys up front are sucking wind after running sideline to sideline non stop.

Thanks OP. I think we need a new tradition to go along with jersey number 18 - at least once a season, we need to have a lateral pass to the left OT. But only when we are close to the endzone. We don't want our guy running 70 yards and getting turf tongue...

Dude as bad as our offense been we still could pull of 8-10 wins a year now our players don't match up with Clemson or OM but since espn has been doing rankings for recruiting Bama has 9 top ten classes OSU has 9 FSU has 9 and guess who else has 9???? a team by the name of LSU

We beat Ole Miss that year when they were ranked #3 with that prehistoric offense so that says a lot

Those poor cameramen. I've never seen so much following the guy who isn't carrying the ball in my life.

Another (not so) hot take by airfernando. I don't think I've ever read anything even remotely intelligent from him.

Here's a news flash: LSU only gave up 10 points to Bama last year. The defense ain't the problem.

All we needed was an offense to muster up a few drives to give the D a break and put up a score or two and we win the game.

No one thinks we are gonna roll up 40 on Bama next year, we just hope to put together some competent drives, score a few points and hope like hell that our defense holds up their end of the deal.

Guice is already great at breaking off long runs. This will open up the middle and he will have even more opportunities. I would not be surprised to see him in NY in december.

Pitt vs Va Tech added

What stood out about this game was how VaTech dominated against the jet sweep that night.

And yet Pitt still put up 36 against the 18th best defense in CFB.
