Doesn't it seem that Canada has given less than a ringing endorsement to any of the QB's when you read his comments? He doesn't criticize any of them really, but the comments are pretty subdued. I'm not suggesting there's any reason to be overly- concerned, but I do find it interesting.

He did say a couple of times that the qb starter would be named by Coach O.

He had positive things to say about each of them, but I guess his muted comment would be "after I tell him who it will be"

What exactly do you want him to say that you would be Happy with?

He's not going to say all of them suck and he's worried they will not be good enough.

He's Also not going to give ever glaring detail to the general public that is not needed.

People read way too much into what a coach says.

I think he's in a predicament. He knows Etling is probably the least talented qb out of Narcisse, Brennan, and him, but apparantly doesnt have the power to name a starter by himself. Every time they asked him about it he said that coach O was gonna make that decision. But maybe I'm wrong.. Etling could be tearing it up?

I rather being down played and honest then completely bullshitting the fan base like Miles always did when it came to talking about his QB's

We have Etling, who is a capable QB, but average

We have two freshmen, both with tools to be good to great, but freshmen

Anything other than muted optimism would be an outright lie.

He is our new OC, keeping it close to the vest and not overplaying his hand. Smart on his part.

This X 1000. What I look for is their confidence in the questions. That's all I look for and you can read too much into that even. Etling is starting and will do fine.

I have nothing specific in mind, but I just thought it was interesting.

Sometimes Canada says more in his pauses than he says in his words. Let's listen again and really listen to the pauses.

Like his comments about every other position grouping? Everything I've seen about Canada, from his comments on the scheme to how he talks about player progress, suggests that he is not going to give anyone much information.

His offense is deceptive by nature. The less info he offers, the better.

A freshman can be talented but ng in.has to have the head and the heart. Eltings job to lose but he's just one injury away from a true frosh stepping up

Why? He hasn't coached them for a play yet in a game. Lots of guys can look good in practice.

Well, why don't you stop being cryptic and tell us why you find that to be interesting.

The fact that your returning senior starter is losing first team snaps to a freshman, and the fact that it sounds like neither will get redshirted, points to the coaches not being that happy with their senior qb.

When's the last time any LSU QB got a ringing endorsement? We are not exactly known for great QB's.
