Has Canada made any comments on the current offensive line situation?
It will be interesting to see how he plans to compensate for all of the attrition.

Definitely will need a short quick passing game as not gonna see a lot of 5 or 7 step drops.

Was about to post this. Wouldn't expect a heavy pounding run game. Much more quick hitters

To me what is going on with attrition is our guys catching up to where they should have been years ago, this will work itself out. The Freshman are doing well because they do not have to unlearn a method that had influence all the into the weight room and being in shape in a different kind of way.

More Power to Eaux and Canada

Frankly if none of this was going on, I would have to wonder if we made the right move, We Made The Right Move

And a QB that can throw on the run. I don't know if we have one or not.

I would expect him to compensate by playing different guys from the ones who left. Other than that, nothing.

I've been rewatching some games and Etling does ok out of pocket...... or more accurate than Harris at least.
Not sure if it was back injury or just weak arm, but there were a lot of underthrows on deep stuff.
OL play forcing a heavy dose of 3 step short to intermediate targets might be good.

I have no clue what this means. Can someone translate please?

Go read the article about Canada's "F" position. The zone and gap scheme is still the same, and that's a quote from Ensminger. So, know what you're talking about before you spew BS.

It has me worried on this attrition. I'm afraid to look up the percentage of OL's LSU has recruited this century that turned out to be starters. The fact that three guys are nicked, the only three with much experience period is disconcerting. I'm hoping Q is lying and holding them out for fear of injury which is a legitimate concern. LSU has five OLs that haven't taken a snap. Brumfield has been around for years but hasn't played much and Campbell and Magee have some mop up time at best. Thankful the OL isn't a rotating position typically like QB, but injuries could kill the Tigers here.

I take a different spin on these O-Line concerns. BTW, I hated seeing Teuhema leave.

But even without him, our 5 starters will still be more capable than the 5 guys Canada had at Pitt (assuming our starters return to health). And they moved the ball well throughout the year.

So while it remains to be seen if Etling can approximate Peterson --- we are much better off at the other offensive skill positions.

Two of my friends call it a gimmick offense, but if it can "hide" limitations on the O-Line against top defenses, I'm onboard.

and it might open up the run game a little. we need to face the fact that our OL is going to change from the miles years; the power, run right at you, road grader thing is out. hell, it didn't work against bama anyway.

If you watch the no huddle videos someone posted here you can see Canada did fine with a weak OL. Even with all the stuff happening our OL is probably better then Pitt's last year.

I gotta admit I was ready for a new avenue of attack.
Pro wasn't working without an elite pro QB and it was more miss than hit with good offenses due to fact.

What makes you think Pitt's OL was weak?

ETA: They landed three players on all conference teams and had two draft picks. They may not have been the best line in the country, but they sure as hell weren't weak either.

I'm curious as to why O granted Teuhema his release instead of trying to strong arm him into serving his suspension and returning.

So you can't block with TEs, FBs, WRs and HBs?

If you look at his offense they don't hold the ball very long. They fake, move the QB and throw the ball. He has to come up with a plan to block as long as the fake is being run then usually you have an open man.

He also hands the ball off to many different people. He found a way to hold Clemsons talent advantage down I think he can come up with one for LSU against our schedule and be successful enough to prove to everyone that this is going to be a team to be reckoned with.
