Can you transfer student tickets to "regular" ones?

My Dad wants to go to a game soon and I know a friend who has told me he will only be able to go to 4 or so games, so I can score an extra student ticket. My Dad isn't a student, so is there anyway we can convert it? I heard if you pay 25 or so bucks that it could be done, but I have no idea.
Also, since mine would still be a student ticket - to sit with him would I have to "convert" my ticket as well?
Thanks in advance.

Unless for some reason it's changed you can. You can bring the student ticket to the ticket office and pay the difference in student price and face value to upgrade. Its been 3 years since I've done it. At the time the upgraded ticket got the non-student in to the student section, so no you wouldn't have to upgrade yours.

In order to exchange to a student guest ticket, the ticket must be brought to the LSU Ticket Office where the difference between the cost of a student ticket and a general public ticket (see below for game-by-game fees) must be paid by cash or credit card. One (1) student ticket will be exchanged for one (1) student guest ticket.

There is a limit of 500 student guest tickets per game that are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Student guest ticket exchanges will end at 5 p.m. CT the day before each home game or as soon as 500 upgrades are processed -- whichever comes first. Student tickets may be exchanged for student guest tickets on a date to be determined in mid August. Student guest tickets will NOT be available for the South Carolina and Alabama games A limit of 500 student guest tickets will be processed for the other six (6) games on a first come, first served basis. Student guest tickets for future games can be exchanged any time prior to game day, provided that the limit of 500 has not been reached. The deadline for student guest tickets will be 5 p.m. CT on the day before the game if 500 have not been processed prior to that time. Student guest tickets will NOT be exchanged on the day of the game for any reason. Tickets used for student guest tickets do not need to be transferred and may be used by anyone. For the 2012 season, student guest ticket prices are $22 for reserved tickets and $28 for general admission tickets for the North Texas, Idaho, and Towson games; and $32 for reserved tickets and $38 for general admission tickets for the Washington, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss games. Credit card and cash are the only accepted forms of payment.

So he would be a guest in the student section...as in he'd be able to sit with me in the student section? Is that right?
