2000-2011 was the best era of all time for LSU.

bullshite BHP. Miles wasn't the coach until 2005. I didn't enjoy anything prior to that.

Well said! Couldn't agree more. We have been on an amazing run!
The "Run" stopped on Zero One Zero Nine Twelve.

Nothing "Amazing" about our SEC record since then. 6-2 in 12. 5-3 in 13. 4-4 in 14, culminating in 8-5 and being demoted to un-ranked non-elite national status...........

It's been great to be a tiger fan for a lot longer than that. The Cannons, Joneses, Estays, Fuglers, Faulks,Hodsons,Casanovas,Duhes,Winstons,Grezaffis,Robinsons, and a very long list of other great tigers are in the same GOAT league as the Hesters,Petersens,Mathieus, and Flynns of recent years. There were as many exciting moments over those years and even before them as in today's games.
Furthermore, I'll argue this with anybody: Death Valley was louder with 68,000 fans than with today's 100,000.

The past 15 yrs. is the very most successful period in LSU football history. The past 10 yrs. is the very most successful period under the same HC in LSU football history.

LSU football began its current run in 95 when GD stopped the bleeding of La. talent flowing out of this state. NS, with the help of the TAF and a certain school president, took LSU to a football level it hadn't seen in 40 yrs. LM continued that success and even bettered it with the greatest 3 yrs. period, 2005-2007, in LSU history.

Like Miles or not, but the man has performed extremely well during some troubled times for the state and while the SEC has been stronger than it ever has ever been in its history with 4 different SEC programs owning BCS titles.

LSU football....

Since LSU last had a losing season,1999, EVERY other team in the SEC had had a losing season. As a matter of fact only Florida State, Virginia Tech and Oklahoma have longer non losing season streaks. Looking at this run in its entirety, (since 2000) for most of us, this run has been the most successful in LSU history. I graduated HS in 1989. My LSU years were the worst in LSU History. The 90's were terrible. Dinardo briefly gave us a glimpse of what could be. He brought us Kevin Faulk which to me turned the tide of the best leaving the state. Saban set it up and Miles has kept it going while not to the level most want but considering how the program kinda just floundered for years its been a fun ride. Big year for Miles and the Program.

All of the above is true, but I bet it was pretty good to be a Tiger fan in the 50's and 60's too. Technology has given us things they didn't have back then, but I just have to think that Saturday nights in Tiger Stadium had to be special in a different kind of way.

we have more NFL and Major League players to watch now

If this is a really REALLY big deal to you then yeah this is probably the best time but as far as the state of our big 3 sports, the current decade really pales in comparison to the last, so far. (I'll get back to you in January). I'm always proud of former players who go on to shine in the pros but what's happening right now at LSU is way more important-JMHO.
