Can we legitimately say this team could beat Alabama?

I have seen nothing so far (from coaching or player development) that says this team can hang with Bama. I realize there are less than 3 teams in the country who could stay with Bama, but LSU should be one of them! This is based off of our recruiting base and the resources LSU offers.

Not right now...maybe with some refinement with the QB, OL and D as a whole.

Alabama needed Saban pulling a magic horseshoe out of his arse to beat an Ole Miss team that got blown out by the FSU team that lost by six touchdowns yesterday.

Not after what I saw from both teams yesterday.

I don't think LSU could hang with Ole Miss either, especially if they jumped out early on the Tigers.

LSU has the talent, but the offense isn't built to play from behind.

No. They are still better up front. Their DL would dominate our OL again and we don't have the passing game to stay in it.

It's possible but highly unlikely. Our oline and dline are just not very good. They're okay, but they'd have to be very good to great to be able to compete with the better teams. There is nothing we do that is better than bama on the other side. We do have time to get better though.

Not right now. The good news, though, is that LSU has 7 weeks before they play Bama. If the OL, DL and QB can continue to improve, then who knows.
