No. LSU rallied in the top of the 9th. There is no such thing as the hold possum though. That's just a silly superstition.

People just can't wait to bury something fun.
Rally totems rarely live beyond one year, anyhow.
But I've always maintained that the real, lasting story of the Rally Possum should be confined to just that Arkansas game where he showed up. The bottom line was that it was a weird night and a miracle comeback win. Seemingly sparked by a possum. That's all the possum needs to be, and that game alone should be enough to guarantee the Possum's place in LSU baseball lore.
The "championship or bust" mentality some people have about the Possum is just dumb. So now that the Possum hasn't delivered a championship, he's shite? Now, THAT sounds like your typical LSU fan right there.
