Specifically with Neck and the infamous STTD,B chant.

There's obviously a disconnect between students and administration over certain songs, but the only reason we have a band, 92k seat stadium and Tigerdroppings is the football team. If they play a video before the game on the video screens with Jarvis/OBJ asking the fans to chant Neck as it was intended, don't you think the students and fans would largely oblige? The fans, players and band all like Neck, so you'd think a plea from the players may reverse the trend.

Yeah I said in the thread about STTDB that Les and the team voicing their opinion on it is the best way to go at this

Student athlete to student adolescent...yes...actually a very good idea. May be the only thing that would work. They look up to the student athlete while rebel toward adult authority figures like the administration.

STTDB

Seriously, let the students be drunken, loud, and outrageously obnoxious students. That's what they do best.

I certainly think the administration is overreacting and trying to control and uncontrollable situation, but they aren't budging, nimrod.

how about we just stop trying to control them. they are going to do what they want unless you get rid of the entire section, which won't happen.

I highly doubt college athletes are offended by it

In college you rebel and do things you think are funny even if stupid.that's part of the college experience. Its why in college you may be liberal and when you grow up you take more conserative approach. Letting college kids do stupid things and say no to authority is part of college experience.
The fact that old people dony remember that and lsu won't let college kids be dumb and step on fun is ridiculous

Dale Brown, in game, would grab the microphone and ask the students to cut out whatever was going on that reflected poorly on the university (throwing ice, verbal abuse, whatever...) They always listened.

I'm not saying that the football team is offended by it. In fact, they probably think it's funny as well. My point is that everyone, including the team, loves hearing Neck. It pumps up the crowd before a big defensive stand, after a crucial score late, etc. more than any other band or piped in song.

I think everyone can agree that hearing Neck without STTDB, whether you think the LSU AD is being pussy about it or not, is better than not hearing it at all
