What the deal is with the fans?? Why were so many leaving early? I don't get it. I graduated from LSU in '99 and was in the student section when we beat #1 ranked Florida. I swear, that is the loudest sporting event I have ever been to. Oddly, the fan base seemed to be more supportive back then, than it is now. And the thing is...We're better now than back then!

What gives??

It's about the money. The rich SOB's that can afford season tickets are just not as passionate as the fans who would love to go, but just cannot afford to.

ZZTIGERS,

There are some decafs out there that are just as good as regular coffee.

P.S. Is your caps lock button stuck?

At the game, you could see where there were open seats on the sideline of the lower bowl, but it is not like a quarter or even a tenth of the stadium left early. I don't agree with them leaving early, but the real crowd was there at the end when it mattered and and made plenty of noise.

People who leave early need to give their ticket to a more deserving fan. Unless you've got a huge emergency there is no point in leaving. Sure, you bought it, you have the right to leave. Doesn't make it any less of a stupid decision.

Exactly, ZZ. This is America, dammit.

The Fan-Nazis who insist that everyone stay to the end, that everyone stand up, that everyone do this or that to "prove" they are true Tiger fans are sophomoric, imbecilic morons.

Just leave them the frick alone.

People can leave when they want, I don't have a problem with that. I just don't understand WHY???

No, my caps-lock is fine. I just find it amusing that people actually care about fans leaving, when it in no way whatsoever affects their life. I'm just having fun

this is amazing to me....if you watch a bad play you leave, if the movie sucks you leave....people see a bad product on the field i.e. miles and his coaching staff and they leave...they don't want to put up with it anymore..they are paying a ton of money for this guy and he is not performing to the standards that are in place now; not back in the 80's or 90's who cares about that time period....what is important to this argument is what is going on now...i am fed up with miles and want him gone because i am certain he will continue to run down this program and it will cost lsu a lot more than 12-15 million when it is all said and done..

"family atmosphere" = more children at games = more old people at games = more people leaving early = less fun for the rest of us

I sold 4 sideline tickets for dirt cheap right outside of the stadium.

Many Tiger fans take pride in being the most intimidating stadium in the country. Well that's not the case anymore. Yesterday, I was sitting on the West side, up near the press box on about the 40 yard line. There was actually a couple of ladies that came in after kickoff and left early in the 2nd quarter never to return. There were about 10-12 empty seats around me after halftime, and there were maybe 20 seats empty around me by midway through the 4th quarter.

It's obvious that these are company seats that just give tickets out because there is no way that people would pay that much money for those seats and not care enough to stay more than a half. I was surprised that the stadium was mostly full at kickoff, because I felt that many would not come because of their disgust with the recent events, but I will never understand why those that actually showed up would leave so early.

...this is a tired old redundant thread...please everyone...stop with all the "why are the fans leaving" early threads. There really is no "why" ...fans will do what they will do for any reason under the sun and moon...it doesn't matter...really folks, it doesn't matter..
