It would make sense, his track record with NFL QB success is pretty amazing

Brees
Rivers
Flacco
Taylor

With the failure rate of NFL QBs, he sure developed and found some

I think Cam has over about 13-14 years in the NFL. A person needs 10 years for an NFL pension.

Is there any other benefit going back to the NFL?

More money. Competition at the highest level. Don't have to recruit high school kids. Don't have the same limited practice schedule as college teams. I love CFB way more than I do the NFL, but I can definitely see why someone would choose to coach in the pros.

They've certainly limited NFL practice times. It's been a huge area of debate

Didn't Cam Cleveland used to play TE for the Saints?

You're right. But NFL teams still have more access to their players- no one is going to stop them from being in the facilities all day watching film, working out, etc., even if they aren't on the field. College players don't have the same luxury. Even if they aren't limited by the NCAA, the majority of them still have classes for half the day.

Admittedly knowing nothing of his current health status, I do wonder if Cleveland or any NFL team would consider a coordinator who has cancer? But as emphatically as he was quoted last week bout not leaving, he would take a serious shot to his credibility if he were to turn around and leave a week later.

For about 5 minutes...coaches do this sort of thing all the time.

when you think about it, it really doesn't make any sense. Very hard to see an NFL team going after him as an OC with the direction NFL offenses have gone these days.

My first thought was, "Is there a recruit in Cleveland, Mississippi?"

He can avoid taking a pay cut at a public university, where contract details are open to the public, which would kill his street cred.
