Ok this is the best news I have heard all day;

quote:

Before Mike IV's death, however, LSU and Mike the Tiger's personal veterinarian, Dr. David Baker, already made clear that a search for the mascot's replacement was already underway.

This brings tears of joy to my heart!!!! You go Dr. David Baker don't let anything get in your way of doing this incredibly important search!.

And PETA go frick yourself!!!!

I thought PETA didn't care if we had a live Tiger because of how good his living facility and care taking is?

Nah, they'd rather he be poached in India. "The way God meant for it to be!"

Not to be a giant dick, but has anyone actually taken a look at Mike's habitat over the years? LSU has made it VERY CLEAR by virtue of both the money spent on the habitat and the fact that they have ringed the place with space for future Mikes' reigns to be memorialized (all those circles) that they have every intention of continuing this tradition for decades to come. The only way LSU will not get another Mike will be if they simply can not obtain one...not become some interest group makes them feel badly.

I don't think they will ever go so far as to take one out the wild, and honestly I would not be down with that. I also don't think we will ever see a day where there are no tigers in captivity unless they become extinct.

Of course that is PETA'S ultimate end game every animal should be wild and we should eat nothing but plants all the time.
