Hopefully the smaller "stage" up there will result in far less of those...I'm confused/scared looks, he often exhibited while under center here both pre and post snap...best of luck to him !

Coach Orgeron took over and let Steve Ensminger run the Offense last year and neither one of them thought highly enough of Harris to give him an opportunity again. They have been there the whole time and seen Harris at practice and in games and obviously wanted no more of it. That screams pretty loudly about Harris' ability or lack of.

If they hand gone with brandon, the melt would have been immeasurable. Kid is a talent. With the right coaching, he could be great

Very quality decision to a program that certainly has a want to throw the ball down the field. He will fight like Hell for Victory.

LINK

"Kid is a talent".

Really? Harris had to be pulled because he couldn't even lead the team vs. JACKSONVILLE STATE.
Check the link to refresh your memory.

Man y'all are ridiculous. Miles and cam destroyed Harris mentally. The offense was never a fit for him. I guarantee you urban Meyer would be had Harris in the heisman hunt. A simple read option here or there would've made him more much of a threat, both running and passing.

Lest we also not forget that he was WAY better in his first few games than he was in his last few. Wonder why?

The Harris bashing on this site is unreal, especially given how obvious it is that CLM was the problem with every QB we've ever had.

I hope Harris lights it up at UNC.

Hard to restrain myself here, but I'm just going to post the Bangheads and be done with it.

You are delusional. Harris had 2 years plus to improve but couldn't execute even the simplest of passing plays and never could (still can't) read a defense. See Wisconsin game and explain how that debacle belongs to anyone but Harris.

You can't say LSU's offense was "basic" on one hand and then not blame Harris for not being able to execute even the most vanilla of plays.

Brandon Harris would have beaten out WHO at Ohio State?

Answer: Nobody.

And to this basher, our current starter shares a similar problem so that's kind of like the pot calling the kettle black.
As soon as Etling stepped on the field against Auburn, the Offense was like Night/Day and was for the rest of the season. No comparison. Etling is a 1000x more effective and efficient QB...............

It wasn't the offense that was basic, it was the way in which the offense was called. Makes all the difference in the world. I kept saying this to people but some just don't get it. This offense was extremely hard on QBs and takes a really specific QB to run it. Young guys just don't do well in it and never would have.

Now if they would have simplified the calling of the plays then we could have been much more effective, look at how much difference it made when you added one wrinkle, the jet sweep. Harris would have been great in this new offense if he had a year to learn but he doesn't. This new offense takes the pressure off of everyone, OL included and it's designed to get the ball out quick into open spaces either by confusing with fakes or by designed quick throws. The defense can't play down hill against you because they will get caught out of position if they do. They will have to hesitate and that hesitation lets the offense get the first hit or push therefore the momentum. It's really that simple.

In Cams offense the defense could come off the ball and just fill gaps or holes, send a guy off the edge in case of a roll out. It was easy to spot because we almost always did it out of the same personnel or formation. Zero moving parts to make the D hesitate or rethink what was going to happen. That's why this new offense will be so damn tough for defense's and LSU will thrive in it because they are so used to having to just dominate the opponent. It's literally going to be a breeze for them. Can't wait.

Same offense with new QB and team moved vs Jacksonville State. The difference was Etling was throwing catchable passes.

The last interception Harris threw vs. Wisconsin was nothing to do with coaching. It was Harris' inability to read a defense and displayed his total lack of leadership. Good bye and good riddance.

He's got the arm talent but hardly any accuracy. It's like a pitcher that throws 96 but can't locate strikes. What good is that?

Best of luck to him but I don't see him playing much less starting.

He may not be able to spell Tarheel but this kid has a decent head on his shoulders. Always impressive during interviews, always articulate and with an air around him that gave off "high intellect" when speaking. Think his problem was never between the ears, but his confidence in his arm and just couldn't pull it together fast enough to stay on the field. He has the ability to do well at UNC if the coaches there simplify his duties, put him in the Gun like at Parkway. Quick strikes and the option to use his legs out of it...Harris has the arm of an NFL passer...if he figures out how to use it, he could make real noise in an ACC that is not very good past Clemson and FSU. His main competition is a true sophomore dual threat kid who has zero real game time. Fedora probably thinks a guy who went against LSU DB's for three years every day and played against the best and fastest Ds like Harris has, is a better option than an 18 year old without a meaningful snap...id be shocked if Harris doesn't win the job and start the whole year for UNC. Facing Virginia, Wake forest, and the Dukes of the football world will seem like it's a JV Defense compared to The Bamas, Florida's, and Auburns that Harris has seen...

Other than having CLM and Cameron as coaches, does anyone think Harris got a raw deal at LSU? I don't think he did, but wish him well at UNC. I just wish he would drop the thinly veiled "I got a raw deal" at LSU victim stuff.
