at 17 years old Harris knows more about our program than many of the alumni

It's pretty sad that a kid making a major decision about his future is more rational than the fanbase.

My thoughts exactly. I didn't expect to go down against Ole Miss of all teams... But I didn't expect us to be in the hunt for an NC at all.

Sadly, you and this kid are overstating what it should cost. You can expect a dropoff, but it shouldn't be going off a cliff. Tackling doesn't have to be horrible just bc several guys leave early. The defense stopped Bama 2x. That's not just bc a bunch of guys left early. We couldn't score on Ole Miss's 2nd string defense. That's not bc a bunch of guys left early.

This is the main thing that infuriates me about this season.

I knew UGA and Bama were potential losses, but the Ole Miss loss is inexcusable. Elite coaches and programs don't lose that game.

Oh well, all you can do is root em on and hope we win out the rest of the way and finish the season on a strong note.

I did. With the drastic turnaround on offense with Cam coming in, and Mett in his second year, we absolutely should have competed for a NC. We just came up so un-expectantly short on defense, which is sooo uncharacteristic for this program.
With this offense, all we needed was just an avg LSU defense, and our only challenge for the year would have been in Tucaloosa.

I hang this season on chief and ultimately Les.

That's why you play the game. shite happens and you lose games you aren't expected to lose.

I see your point, but honestly, nobody expected to lose to them with that many injuries. Should have been a gimme. But oh well.

And one that Les Miles knows is indefensible. He can point to things leading to the other losses at the end of the season, but he can't defend that one.

Ole Miss always plays LSU hard. It's the players & certain group of fans who overlook them year after year. Honestly, OM should have beat LSU in '12. Thankfully the coaches didn't try to teach him some lifelong lesson by benching him that game.

No. We shouldn't have, but the 2 major reasons we lost are Mett's 3 picks (2 of which came on under thrown bad reads in the endzone). and after we had tied the game the defense couldn't get off the field on 3rd down.

Florida went off a cliff. LSU's hit a very rough patch that demands attention. But it's certainly not 'panic button' time.
