I have season tickets for Tulane football and have never heard anyone say "Roll Damn Wave" so I assume it is a new thing

You just said a half truth on that.

Tulane fans don't care about LSU fans cheering for the other team and most would cheer for the other team if LSU was ever sent to New Orleans for a regional.

Problem arose from the 2002 regional, which I did attend with a bunch of Tulane fans located in right field.

During the game their was constant "F--- you tulane" yelled at the Tulane fans and constant vulgarity throughout the game. While leaving there were cups thrown at the fans wearing Tulane shirts.

To LSU's credit none of that happened in the following years as the LSU staff did a good job controlling the trouble makers (which I don't consider to be true LSU fans anyway).

A lot of fans had a quite bad experience then and haven't returned since. And yes, it was THAT bad. There were a lot of LSU fans that were quite apologetic on the way out.

Iv'e been to many LSU games since then and that is the only time I've ever had an experience like that. Have had very enjoyable times at the Box since then and enjoy the good-natured spirit of the rivalry.

With that said, I can understand people not wanting to come back after that.
