He has Jalen Collins as the #26 overall pick to the Ravens and La'el as the #28 pick to the Broncos.

Would love to see Jalen make it all the way into the 1st.

Looks like those mock drafts from 2 and 3 years ago may be right on Jalen after all. We all laughed at them.

This write about Collins was sort of weird. Didn't really sell me on his capabilities and worthiness at that spot.

Analysis: The Ravens could look to draft a wide receiver here, with Steve Smith Sr. in the latter stages of his career and Torrey Smith a free agent this offseason. Arizona State's Jaelen Strong is a big target who would be an asset for Joe Flacco. But I think upgrading the secondary is a bigger priority for the Ravens. Collins is still developing, but he has the length and speed to become a good starting cornerback in the NFL.

Stop looking at this from an LSU fan prospective. This is the NFL. Collins is a legit 6'2" and close to 200lbs. and will run really well at the combine and his pro day somewhere around mid 4.4ish in the 40. That's big time measurements and speed. They can teach technique, but you can't teach size and speed.

Its all about projection and no matter what many of us think, the kid projects well.

Have to remembe, in the leadup up to the national title game in 11 Collins was the guy our own players said Collins was the best athlete on the team. That was a loaded squad so that's saying something.

Wouldn't be suprised. Big corners are all the rage in the NFL these days

That will only become more popular with the Seahawks and Pats playing in the Super Bowl

there is no way La'el lasts to no. 28 and no way jalen is drafted before La'el.

so was I initially. but McShay isn't the only one talking him up.

"They all have holes, but Collins is what you are looking for in an NFL cornerback with his length and speed. He isn't there yet, but he has the traits and ability to become a high-end starter and maybe the best cornerback from this draft." -- NFC director of personnel on LSU CB Jalen Collins

It's about more than just size and speed to be a 1st rounder man... Collins was never a full time starter and he flat out bad 2 seasons ago. He was better this past year but still wasn't a full time starter. And he was the guy that Alabama and Amari Cooper picked on as well.

Think back a few years ago... IMO Tharold Simon was a better and more productive player at LSU. He was 6'2 202lbs and ran a 4.51 in the 40. And he went in the 5th round. And Simon actually was a full time starter and CB1 on that 2012 team. Collins was the 2nd or 3rd CB on this team. And if RR wasn't suspended, he would have been the CB3 all year long.

That said, Collins does have great size and potential. But I don't think there's enough substance there to take him in the 1st. Late 2nd? Maybe. 3rd round? Absolutely. Just really doubt an NFL team would take him in the 1st. Hope he does great though because he was a hard worker who overcame his ups and downs and turned into a solid player.
