All the foolishness with moving divisions and conferenes a few years ago absolutely destroyed the program. For all practical purposes, it's as if the program is really 2 or 3 years old.

Assuming the university itself stays afloat, the team will get better with more experience and actual recruiting. You could probably put together a team based on players who went to high school in a 90 mile radius from UNO that are rejected by the bigger schools, and do just fine.

If he can get this team to 500 in the Southland... he will be on to bigger jobs before long.

I'm well aware of what's been going on at UNO recently, the university will stay afloat. Unfortunately they've had scholarships and done actual recruiting the past couple years and the team is just as bad if not worse than the teams where they had 1-2 scholarship players and 20+ walk-ins.

Surprised they would hire Dean as a HC so early, but I am happy for him! He was my favorite Tiger when he was LSU- I wish him lots of success, let's see if he can recruit some talent to UNO.

Happy for him but definitely not the best resume of the candidates.

Tell Will Davis there is an assistant coach position at Mercer University in Macon, Ga. that is open. It is a bump up from his Volunteer assistant position. He has to climb the ladder and not just expect to bypass to a Head Coaching job.

I really hate Twitter.

Congrats to Coach Dean, though.

We might try but O'Connor probably would stay at UVA.
