Blake Dean must have been the reason for hitting last year.

Good point. Because the year before it was the same as this year. How many DPs did we hit into 2 years ago?!?!

We hit into fewer double plays per game two years ago than we did last year. This year we're also hitting into them at about the same pace as last year.

At least we're consistent.

Hitting was significantly better last year than this year and the previous year. UNO is hitting much better this year. I can reason with this logic, but will require a full season of evidence.

I said earlier this season that we should have offered Blake the hitting coach job, and I was being completely serious.

I said the same thing. And everyone blaming the new bats, etc. on the bad hitting. Well other teams are hitting just fine. There is something wrong with our player's approach at the plate. That is on the hitting coach. And if Mainieri can't see that and try to fix the problem, well then we are in trouble.

We should start a campaign to get him offered the job for next season.

Not only was Blake Dean a great hitter but a teacher that knew what he was talking about. You have to know how to hit to teach it!!!!!:-):-)

according to CPM a kid either knows how to hit or doesn't. can't teach him.
