Damn. I was hoping he'd stick around. His K% is pretty damn good, so he's got good stuff. From his summer league stats it was looking like he was starting to get it together.

The timing sucks for sure. We will be under the limit possibly even before the fall and definitely before the spring.

He doesn't know where he's going yet. There's interest from some schools. JUCO isn't the only route he has available.

For baseball development it may be his best option though. The amount of games they play, he'll have a lot of opportunity to prove himself and keep his options open.
Some JUCOs will play 30 games in the fall and another 50+ in the spring.

I was impressed with his summer stats as well. As somebody said, if his grades are suffering at LSU (with all of the student-athlete academic help), then he needs to transfer to a JuCo and try to gather his thoughts and get it together academically and hopefully for him he never has to use the D1 platform to get a contract.
