I heard that after Stalling's performance tonight, Rhegan Courville will be sitting next to Stalling's mom tomorrow.

I have one thing to mention. When we went up 3-2 at the top of the 8th, they should have let Lang play one more inning. I mean he had his stuff doing great. They should have had him finish the 8th then brought in the closer.

But woulda, coulda, shoulda, Right... The game was flat out awesome and heart stopping at times.

And yes Stallings deserves credit for just hanging in there until LSU took the lead again. So good job everyone!

I tend to agree, but the commentators mentioned that CPM might consider using Lange in the Sunday final if we make it that far.

With that consideration, I had to believe he was on some sort of pitch count that might allow him to come off of short rest and at least give some ace innings of relief if we make it to the final.

If Sakerlina goes 0-2 tomorrow, the door is open for us to get that national seed if we win the whole shebang. So he can justify that strategic move.

CPM showed faith in the bullpen and it worked out in our favor. As a whole, our relievers have come alive as the season has progressed and now look not only able to hold a lead, but to keep some separation if the bats get cracking early.

Getting out of that 11th inning was incredible.

Stallings was shouting so much after the 11th that he got light headed and one of his teammates had to ask him if he was OK not sure if anyone else caught that

Not going to lie, I was thinking negative thoughts when they kept trotting him out there inning after inning.

But Stallings came through big time.

no one has knocked our bull pen more than me and I agree that they've improved greatly.

Crazy thing is, it was Stallings or no one to finish that game. The end game for CPM is to hold on to as many arms as possible moving forward through this tournament. Win or lose, I was impressed with how LSU found a way to plate 3 in the 8th and almost shut the door in the 9th even with the Breaux drop.

Fully agreed - When Stallings first came in, my reaction was "oh sh#t". But I was wrong. He was great and deserves a helluva big congratulations and thank you from the Tiger Nation. This team really seems to have found its groove at the right time. Kudos.

I kept telling Jesse through the TV to exhibit that form that made him so dominant during those 12 saves last year. Well, he didn't disappoint. (And fortunately my wife didn't send me to the Funny Farm for talking to the TV--because she was asleep upstairs).

What's the most he's pitched?? No way was PM making a move at that point. I was getting nervous.

Stallings AND to Lange who I'll admit in the first I was like "wtf? Is anyone in the pen." Oh me of little faith.

Seems like every single tournament Mainieri puts in a season-long inconsistent pitcher and he throws a gem for us

Stallings was fantastic even with the walks

For some reason (probably because I was delirious), I had full faith in Stallings. Dude was jacked up, and that's not what you want in your pitcher, but I was like do you son!

Either way, the drop by Breaux in the 9th was a blessing in disguise. Stallings has extreme confidence now, and Romero may have came out of his slump.

Stallings was incredible.

I was amazed when I looked at his stat line. 5 walks in 5 innings. 0 runs.

No strikeouts - he's never pitched 5 innings without a strikeout in his career.

All against the #1 team. Player of the game, IMO.
