For us:

1) Billy Cannon vs OM in '59

Some others I recall:

Tyrann vs Arky in '11 (game changer in a huge game)
Tyrann vs UGA in '11 SECCG
Skyler vs Aubbie in '05
Kennison vs State in '94
Chad Jones vs State in '09
Trindon vs Arky in '09
Tracy Porter vs OM in '79 (ETA: need to confirm if this was for a TD. I was there and it was a great comeback. Maybe some old timers with better memories can weigh-in.)

In terms of flashiness? Probably not that high. In terms of putting the game on his back in a hopeless situation in a pivotal moment of the season and being a true leader? Wayyyy up there, I'd argue that it was as big for the program as Tyrann's vs Arky in 2011 which was absolutely huge. Chark's was the definition of a game and program changer for the time being

We likely lose to Ole Piss in 2012 if not for OBJ’s punt return. We were down 28-35 in the fourth and that tied the game and also sparked the momentum for the win.

What about Dominic Davis' 71 yard punt return for TD back in 2001 versus the Rebels?

If I remember correctly Todd Kinchen had a few nice returns as well.

Todd Kinchen had an A-MAY-ZING punt return in a 1990 upset of A&M

I was at this game; place was lit during / after that score. We were screwed if he didn't get that return. Totally changed the dynamic.

Hard to say. A lot depends how the rest of the season plays out.

The more we win, the bigger that play becomes.

Tiger Stadium came alive after the OBJ return, and the Tigers stopped Ole Miss cold on their next drive, and the Tigers drove for the winning TD after that. Yes it was grand!

I remember it being rather cold that night, but not brutal like the Troy game in 08. That was also the night Les went bonkers during a post-game interview!

I think TM's against UGA in the SECC game was really HUGE! Our offense was terrible going on 2-3 weeks in a row and UGA's Defense was dominant in the first half of that game. Without that TD and the other big returns he had that didnt go all the way for TD's but flipped momentum as well as field position, UGA probably beats us and we never get our asses handed to us by Bama in what I still say was the biggest arse FU*K by the NCAA and pollsters in CFB history!!

No way Bama should have been rewarded for losing at home and not even playing for the SECC. Only other teams I think would have been treated similarly would be Notre Dame, Ohio St and maybe USC.

I know I high jacked the thread a bit with this rant but oh well, I cant help myself when it comes to that game. My birthday is Jan 9th so they took what should have been the greatest B-Day present of all time and made it a shite sandwich.

Chad Jones vs State in '09 is one of my favorites. It has a lot to do with the fact that I was there, but also Chad played out of his mind that day. He made the goal line stand stops and the Tigers got the win. I remember thinking "what the frick is he doing!?!" When he picked it up on the 7. Then going nuts, then laughing when he hit the ez, he just fell out. Dad and I said he had to be laughing the last 40 yards watching PP7 windmill him home!

Been thinking about this a bit over this season so far. I recall this tiger team, in the past decade and a half particularly, being so good in part because of special teams when nothing else was working. Fake field goals or punts for TD's. Honey Badger idk how many times retuning punts for TD's in CRUCIAL moments. I noticed earlier this year how Chark just never had a chance to return punts. We never got the opportunity to let special teams be a spark.

Well we got one. And the field goal kicking Saturday! Really stepped up. We used to have really good kickers. We won the game of the century on it. Maybe ST can be a weapon for us again!

Didn't Faulk return a punt on the first play of the 4th quarter against Houston when we were down 20 points? Then we came back to rally 35-34. If I didn't dream that, then it's my favorite. My first game in the student section.

Does it really count if the refs ignored 3 block in the backs?

If Stevens had done the wind mill as Chark came around behind him, it would be top 5. As it is, probably top 15-20 - and that's considering its possible impact on the future chances of Coach O's success. We've had bigger returns in bigger games (where we actually had meaningful things on the line). But this one was big.

Bonstoker or what ever his name is needs to make a highlight film of all the greatest punt returns so we can watch them and decide.

I was at the game for Odell's versus Ole Miss in 2012. That was nuts!

I was also at the WVU game in 2009. Wasn't the most impressive return or the greatest game but Peterson striking the Heisman pose sent that place into a frenzy. He said during the week leading up to that game that he might strike the pose if he scored on another punt return and the stadium seemed to quiet slightly as he crossed the goal line. Then he dropped the ball, hit the Heisman stance and 92k lost their minds for a solid 3 or 4 minutes.
