But it's hard to give greatest game ever to a rb that fumbled 2 or 3 times in that game.

Fumbled 3 times, lost 2. He also scored 10% of the time he touched the ball in that game. Fumbles don't change my answer (and I think 1 was a scoop and score).

We also threw 2 interceptions and had an additional fumble, all by people who didn't generate about half of all all purpose yards in the game, and didn't score 3 of 5 touchdowns.

Hard to find a better performance by an offensive player, period, although Josh Reed (a converted RB) against Bama might be up there. Which is why it is an obvious choice for best performance by a RB.

Kevin Faulk is on the short list - probably one of the best 20 or 30 players to not win the Heisman in CFB history.

If there were not so many other options to choose from, I would agree. Can't be the GOAT performance and have 2 turnovers.

If so, that's kind of pathetic for the Tigers, when the greatest performance includes 2 fumbles.

Alley-cat was damn talented musician as well.

And that was his eventual undoing.

And Leonard Fournette can only wish he was as good Alley Broussard.

He had multiple games with over 20 carries as a true freshman you dumbass.

As for the topic of the thread. I don't know about whole game, but hill v. Auburn last year has to be the best start. His first half was insanity that night.

Vincent had some good ones

Vincent vs. Georgia in 2003 SEC championship game was pretty good.
202 yards on 18 carries, a long of 87, 2 touchdowns, 11+ yards per rush.

Especially impressive considering we only got 142 yards on 33 carries the first time around that season (when Vincent didn't play)

Faulk in the second half against Houston was unbelievable

Hands down the most impressive and exciting performance I've ever seen

faulk's performance against uk in '97 is up there. 212 yards on 28 carries wth 5 td's.
Mealey rushed for over 130 yards and a pair of scores in that game as well.

but my favorite is probably mealey running for 222 against notre dame in the independence bowl.

Jacob Hester against Florida in 2007-heart guts leadership

was thinking Broussard was the answer before I read all the people's answers, but I just loved this performance.

Could have used Hester at the Miss State 1 on the first drive.

Mine is also Hester v. Florida 07. No he didn't rush for two hundred yards, but he's the reason we won the game. Never seen so much heart, character, and desire to win a football game since.

There have been some notable performances since. Ala Jeremy Hill v. SC/Bama/Iowa.

Not to discredit Faulk or anyone else, but LF vs OM/ND are pretty respectable in my opinion because of what the rest of the offense was doing. AJ couldn't hit a pass to save his life in either of those games. Both teams knew LF was running and he still managed to carry the team.
