Ive read several of them. I think Heir to a Dream
is the best. I believe its the only one written (or co-written) by Pete himself. He had an interesting childhood and it goes into that a lot more, and about LSU, but less about his pro career. He talks about his dad a lot and that pretty much shaped who he was.
The others (Maravich
)go into his pro career and post-retirement more, because his wife was the main source for them and written after his death. Im guessing she didnt have as much insight on his childhood or maybe was just trying to make it different than the previous book.
You'll enjoy any of them if you're a Pistol Pete fan. Lots of good stories: for instance, Press Maravich coached Mike Ditka in high school basketball.
