Besides play calling and punting did anybody else see any glaring weakness?

Punting is a major issue right now especially with our style of offense. Besides those two weaknesses I really didn't see any.

No glaring weaknesses but the young guards on the OL need to gel fast.

O-line wasn't blocking great. First game though. Give the time to gel and they will be a wrecking crew

After reading the Rant, I can't see anything that will give me just a sliver of hope for this season. Nothing is good. All is bad.
I'm just glad I have all of these famous college coaches to tell me that.

seemed like keene tried the rugby punts from too far in lsu territory and didn't pin them back. First game though and all should improve for next week...including the playcalling.

I didn't see either as "glaring weaknesses" - but I agree that the inconsistency of the punting and the (inexplicable, but expected) early shift to "conservative" are areas of concern.

Where's the troll? Clapp, Boutte, and Teuhema need to grow up fast if LSU is going to make a run.

Punting , no effort to punt to coffin corner mo effort to punt deep

Good post.
I think most of our concerns heading into the year are turning up roses. I'm a little concerned about OLB. But, the DEs look good and the interior DL looks great.
I think it's going to be a few more weeks before our OL is playing at its best.
And, while Harris played pretty well, we still need to see him continue to develop. It's not a foregone conclusion that he won't be a liability.
But, overall, things are looking very good IMO.

OLB could be an issue....
Play calling is a constant issue of longstanding.

I thought Thomas really struggled at man to man in the second half.

Key's depth perception. Other than that he is really great.

Was not impressed with return game. Not enough depth on d-line to remain strong in 4th quarter, if we don't get first downs on offense.

Your just ranting yourself. Care to add anything constructive?

Clapp was getting slapped at points in the game

If numbnuts ever decides to evolve this could be a very good season followed by a NC in 16

Penalties. Could have been up 35-14 instead of 21-6. Still would have had to suffer the talents of Dak; truly a great quarterback. State had no running game.
