I don't think it has been mentioned enough of how great of a job Ben does calling the games. He has a lot of knowledge, is spot on with most of his predictions and doesn't talk too much or try and show you how much he knows.

In college, if you hit the mitt, even if it's a few inches off the plate, umpires will give you the call.

I said this tonight to my girl.

I really enjoy his commentary and glad he covers the games.

Yes, he's called games for ESPN, so he's not new to this... I'm glad we got him.

Side topic: on the radio call, who was it last night that was calling the game with Charlie? Doug someone? It was the first time I got to hear a radio call this season, and I only heard the last 2.5 innings.

Also, anyone else notice Charlie calling the game with more emotion than he has in past years? One of the cracks against him in the past has been that he tends to not show much emotion.

Ben deserves an award just for having to work with Lynn Rollins.

I agree. We're very fortunate to have ex greats Like Big Ben and Blanton calling games for us. Both give very good insight.

I love Ben. He doesn't know what blue tooth is and hams a hard time with things not baseball related but he is the man. Very fun to listen to.
