The Patriots have kicked off 18 times this season, and haven't had a team start a drive from beyond the 25-yard line once. Stephen Gostkowski has 10 touchbacks. The other eight led to returns inside the 25 and, on Thursday night, two fumbles. Check and mate.

“Our kickoff guys are doing a great job. It would be dumb just to kick it out of the end zone every time right now,” Gostkowski told USA TODAY Sports on Thursday night.

If your guy can keep it in bounds he's right

Well if you don't kick it out of bounds it's a pretty good idea

When your third string RB Branden Bolden can lay the wood and strip the ball on a kickoff you're in good shape

Since a right-footed kicker has a tendency to Duckhook the ball to the left, very rare to see a slice to the right. Why don't we angle kick it to the right side and if there's a mistake it stays in bounds?

I saw that article and was thinking the same thing. Belicheck take a page out of ole Lesticles play book, or is Leslie actually playing the numbers for a change.

Saban was the first to do this at LSU...you don't remember him screaming at kickers who fricked it up? hahaha

Makes sense Belichick would be on the same page as his protege'.
