Correct me as necessary but be gentle. I just read where ulm will sell beer at there home games. Isn't it against NCAA rules to sell alcohol at NCAA college games.

UL has been selling beer for a few years now. Not an NCAA rule, don't think it's a SEC rule, more of an understanding.

not sure who has rules against it and who doesn't. I heard from friends who made the trip to Morgantown in 2011 that WVU sold beer till the 3rd quarter then stopped.

Interesting article on beer sales at college stadiums

The NCAA only regulates what can be sold at Championships, leaving individual schools to determine what is best for them.

I guess that's one way to keep people from getting blackout drunk.

Univ of Houston has sold beer at home games for years. Pretty much the only reason my Coog fan friends get me to attend on occasion.

I've legally purchased and consumed beer in Tiger Stadium.

I would guess beer sales would bring in several hundred thousand dollars in revenue per year. I don't see why we don't. It's not like we don't already have drunk fans.

Only several hundred thousand dollars over 7 home games?

They sell beer at bayou country superfest and I want to say it was around 200K for the weekend in profit. Double the amount of people over 7 games it over a million.

Isn't it against NCAA rules to sell alcohol at NCAA college games.

The NCAA prohibits the sale of alcohol at postseason events run by the NCAA like the FCS playoffs, basketball and baseball tourney, etc., but not the regular season. Sale of alcohol is left up to the conferences and/or individual schools.

And fwiw, the suites are cantilevered over the stadium. So, technically, the suites are not part of the stadium: hence, alcohol served.

At least, that's my understanding.

Makes me question the upper deck.
