I love this team. They are playing so hard every game. But it is tough to watch them fight so hard for every basket and have to shoot so many three's.

We have to start getting more inside scoring from our big men. JOB still seems determined to prove to the NBA scouts that he can hit an outside shot and put it on the floor and score. He needs to post up and when the double and triple teams come pass it back out without trying to dribble through people. Then repost and keep playing inside/outside with the guards until one or the other of them get a good shot.

Del Piero we don't even try to use. It was so evident the first part of the Marquette game. Andrew was being fronted by a guy whose head came up to his shoulder. All we have to do is throw a high lob pass and it should be either a basket or a foul.

Coleman you can't say enough about. The guy has played like a player three or four inches taller than his 6'5". But the sad fact is that he is not really a big man and is playing out of position. He usually gets his baskets out of quickness and sheer hustle and energy.

I know we need to shoot from the outside a lot and we have some good shooters. But it is just like in football where you need balance between the run and pass. The more inside scoring we have the easier it will be to hit the outside shots.

It's difficult to go inside where you only have one true scoring threat down there (JOB) and everybody knows it. Defenses are going to sag and double JOB every time the ball goes into the post. They way for this team to get points inside is to do what LSU did late in the game. Stringer and JOB played a two man game forcing the defense to make a choice who to attack. Stringer was hot from deep and the D couldn't allow him to get open looks from outside. Once that happened, Stringer could ball fake, attack the basket and find JOB for some easy buckets.

It's been my issue with him since he's been here. He's got some nice post moves (the quick crossover to the reverse lay-up yesterday was a thing of beauty) but all too often he settles for 15-foot fall-aways and 3's. The fact that he didn't shoot a foul shot tells you all you need to know.

He is demanding doubles every time he touches it in the post. He just needs to learn to read the defense better and more efficiently, so that we can exploit that fully.

Is Courtney that bad? Did the injury put him back that far. I've seen him have some good moments since he's been here and he's got some size and length. I gotta think he can be at least as effective as Eddie, who came in and promptly turned the ball over then fouled on an and-1.

My problem with JOB is he gives up his post position way too easy. Instead of reposting when necessary he fades to the perimeter so he can get the ball. As pointed out above he loves the fade away jumpers.

I do appreciate the fact that he bought in and is in better shape this year.

Give it time. This is Johnny Jones first year. Next year's class brings more than enough help. The future is very bright for LSU basketball.

This is true but I think we need to lob it into Andrew also just to keep them honest. We don't really know if he can score or not because he almost never shoots. Try it some and if it doesn't work then we are back to square one.

JOB is miles better passing out of the dbl team than he was last year. It's unfortunate he has no one to dump it to down low who can finish. I really hope he comes back and can maximize his ability next year with the two youngsters . He is getting it to shooters behind the arc most times, that is our offense this year. On the days we shoot 40% from 3 we can beat anybody in the league.

This is true. He's passing the ball out much more, but people will keep putting more blame on him (although, not all of it is undeserved) because it's the cool thing to do.

I agree. But the fact is he practically never passed once he got the ball last year.

He is willing to share the ball much more this year. He just need to better learn how...or do make a move quickly before the double comes like he did on that one reverse layup.

I hear he listens to coaching and is willing to learn so I suspect he'll improve as the year goes.

Im starting to wonder of this is by design. CJJ and JOB know that he is really the only true post presence we have, and as his fouls go, so does this team. So Im beginning to wonder if the timid post play is to limit his fouls. Kind of a "lose the battle, win the war" type strategy
