Unreasonable to expect .500? SEC will the the strongest it's been in a decade. New coach. Half new roster.

Either way, I'm excited.

I think an 8-10 sec record with much improved play and passion is reasonable. I'll see a product that plays hard and falls short over the apathetic display Johnny put out from coaches and players

Probably. But I'm excited to see a team play with some purpose. Plus we've got some pretty nice (albeit mostly unproven) pieces. Can't wait to see Mays play with some functional coaching. So who knows? I don't think making the NIT is too far out of the realm of possibility.

ETA: did you mean .500 in the SEC or overall?

I think we'll surprise some people and make the NIT.

Fingers crossed for a Play-in Game loss in Dayton.

I think with good scheduling, and a finish in the top6 of the conference we could be on the bubble with a chance to be in a tournament

Very excited, but no clue how the lineups pan out with so many new guys.
Is it:
Waters
Edwards
Sampson
Combs
Reath

Mays
Rachal/Patterson
Sims/Alexander
Epps
Kiir/ER

My only expectation is to see quality basketball, not a glorified 3 point contest or pick up basketball. I want to see fundamentals, transition offense and defense. No jumping before a pass!

I'm not going to raise the bar for Will Wade's first season on account of his own success on paper with recruiting. But it wouldn't surprise me if they are good enough to finish in the top half of the league. It may take a little while to get to them to gel as a team and figure out what works. I just want to see continual progress.

Ppl talking about making the tournament are overly excited. But I think a NIT berth is attainable. It all depends on how quickly players buy in to Wade's vision. For me though, I just want to see aggressive but smart play. I expect Wade will have this team heading in that direction.

I want to see what the OOC schedule is. The conference is absolutely stacked, so .500 in the conference and a nice OOC record is going to get LSU in the tournament

eta: I'd actually for sure say tournament if we could have replaced Elbert with a solid post transfer/recruit, but that would have almost been too good to be true

Something other than run past half court and fire an errant 3 and some recognizable defensive effort.

I honestly think we make the tournament and lose in the first round.
