-The interior defense is super weak just as expected. Everyone hopes Victor changes this but I would temper expectations. He's a guy who couldn't get on the floor at Arizona.
- We miss Hornsby more than anything in my opinion. Dude was huge last year. He can't get healthy soon enough.
- Josh Gray is a huge plus to be able go to him off the bench
- You can run Simmons into the ground for not taking the last shot but if he is truly like Lebron he will always make the right play rather than being selfish. Get used to that. It appears to be how he is wired.
- It's not a great loss but it doesn't surprise me. We have great talent and below average coaching. Team can go far if the young talent matures.
- Enjoy it while it's here. We will be back to normal after this year. Simmons is something we should never forget or take for granted.

Looking forward to rest of season.

We played with dick effort for most of the game. Giving up offensive rebounds, loose balls, etc.

Shot selection was terrible.

Pretty disappointing to play this shitty against a bad Marquette team in ficking New York City, but whatever.

It's early. I think we'll be a lot better when we get Victor and Hornsby back, but with that said it's concerning that we don't have a rim protector. They got to the rim with ease all night it seemed.

Marquette played with a chip tonight and it showed.
We are going to struggle down low.
Bottom line we were without Hornsby and victor so we will be better.
Blackney played bricks tonight as well.
Games like this are great for a young team.

He gotta take that shot in the future. Forget that Lebron mess. Shoot the rock and live with the consequences. Unselfish at the wrong times. Lebron had to figure that out too. You gotta Be Da Man at pivotal times to finish a game.

Good lord do you know anything about basketball? The layups given up were not because of interior defense, it was our perimeter defense which could not stop the dribbler from getting to the paint. Its not the interior defenders fault that they have to leave their man to stop the ball. I mean Christ, even the announcers mentioned it half a dozen times. We don't have Mickey any longer to help mitigate our atrocious perimeter defense. That was our biggest problem last year and it still is this year.

Very undisciplined team. Worst rebounding I can recall with LSU - maybe ever . . .

Lives and dies by the three. Not a good thing.

So you are saying our interior defense was good? I agree the defense was bad all around but we have no rim protection whatsoever. Just because I didn't mention the perimeter d doesn't mean I don't know anything about basketball. Yes I saw them get to the rim at will, but I saw nothing good down low defensively and that includes Ben.

josh gray cant defend

darcy malone is a joke

bridgewater shouldnt ever see the floor

we have no low post defender and rebounder, hopefully victor can help here.

we should still have beaten teams like marquette, but our shooters were off tonight.

Blakeney was way off, if he starts hotter, this game would have been way different

One and done in the SEC Tournament is about the only guarantee I can make.

I'm saying the problem tonight was nearly entirely the result of incredibly bad perimeter defense. We weren't getting posted up (that might well eventually be a problem, but it wasn't tonight). Marquette shot layups all night because we COULD NOT STOP THE BALL. PERIOD. It just blows me away that anyone could watch that game, and not be horrified at how bad our perimeter guys were. And its been the same story since Johnny's been there. And without Mickey there it will cost us game after game if we don't get better.

How about that Auburn game in last year's SECT?

Does that give you confidence we will make it to the semifinals of this year's tournament for only the third time since 2006?

Can you tell me the last year LSU even made it to the SECT Championship?

I'll wait...
