I understand us putting 5 infielders in but why sub out fraley instead of Breuax? Just wondering. Rally Possum!!

I had my hand on my laptop ready to see that Florida number hit four...but it never did.

I've been wondering this all night. I cannot imagine why you wouldn't yank Breaux's arse out. Fraley is just too good.

Maybe Fraley had something going on injury or fatigue wise and he wanted to give him some rest? Who knows.

I was ready to turn the tv off at any second.

I still don't know how the hell they got out of that.

I'm convinced that 5 infielders confused the batters.

its stupid, but it is because brennan breaux and antoine duplantis have the 2 strongest arms.

Brain fart.

Watching the replay you could see Cannizarro (sp?) talking to PM and waving his toward the outfield. I firmly think he just assumed CF was the farthest throw, so we need to bring the CF in to the middle of the infield, so he just pulled Fraley without much though.

Someone else in the game thread mentioned that he probably had no belief that it would work so he wasn't thinking past that inning.

It was the wrong move from a sub standpoint.

Maybe, but Liput scorched that ball to Reid. The infield fly was about as pussy of a hit as you'll see though from Maldonado.

I guess they feel Breaux had more range in the outfield? and just more fresh.

I am not sure, maybe they will answer it.

Also another defensive thing to think of.. if it's a short bullet hit to center.. Breaux just might have the best arm in the outfield considering he was also a pitcher.. so there could be a play at the plate on a tag.

I'm thinking it was something like this; the game was already long, and if somehow you get out of the inning Breaux had more energy left.

The starters were getting tired. Watch K Rob; he usually hops around in frustration after not making a play. I think it was his last at bat, he was thrown out running out a ground ball, and just stood there and stooped over.

well wherever he was positioned. perhaps they valued his arm and range slightly more.

good point though. it was truly just a survive this inning defensively and go from there moment.

so proud of this team.

great win!
