i just saw this depth chart on 247 that says Bain is a 2nd team DE. i haven't heard any speculation about him moving to DE in the past. is this a good sign meaning that he's quick enough to be effective off the edge, or is it a bad sign meaning that we're too thin at DE?

No...

He's working at both DT and DE. When we go with a 3 man front, Bain kicks out to DE.

Good...we've been weak on outside containment for years...last year we didn't get much containment or pressure on QBs...jmho

I'm pretty sure I recall some people on the rant raving about his athletic ability. Freakist talents and so forth. Maybe just maybe it's true and it transfers to the DE move. Coach O knows.

Not necessarily a 3 man front but the strong side opposite of the LEO in a 4-3 under look which will appear to be a 5-2 especially if they use Patterson as the SAM. The SEC won't know what hit them.

our defense is going to be strong in 2015. lsu is going to surprise some people this year. the talent is there and i expect our qb situation to be much improved this season. watch out for the tigers theyre gonna be dangerous. i love how we are kinda flying under the radar too with people not expecting much from us...we are still LSU. i cant wait.

The guy I think is going to surprise us at DE is Lewis. He's reportedly very quick, yet he was strong enough as a freshman to be moved to DT when we were shorthanded there. And this was when he weighed about 230! This guy could be a special athlete.

We are going to be loaded at DE this year. This will not be the area of concern most people expected.
