5:52PM EST December 10. 2012 - It's now been almost three full NFL seasons Chad Jones has missed since suffering ghastly, life-threatening injuries in a car accident in his native New Orleans, two months after the New York Giants selected the safety in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft.

Jones still isn't giving up. And Monday, he had a workout with the Philadelphia Eagles, who were checking him out as a potential signing for next season.

"I was actually pumped. I think a little more came out of me, just being in that atmosphere," Jones told USA TODAY Sports by phone before boarding a flight back to New Orleans. "I actually think I turned it up to another level."

Guy is the very definition of determined and focused. Amazing what he's accomplished since the accident.

Most people would've given up.

Why doesn't Saints give him a try? The DB's we have on saints are awful. Jones would be better than what we have

Wish we could have him back on the Tiger's squad. Wonder what kind of influence he might have had on TM7. Jones is one of my fav tigers.

Glad to see he's getting a look, just wish it wasn't Philly.

Good for Chad. One of my all time favorite Tigers. I can't imagine ever fully recovering from the injuries he suffered much less recovering fully enough to play at the NFL level.

He is a true inspiration of determination.

On another note, has he ever spoke publicly about possibly being a MLB pitcher. It sure seems the odds would be much greater of him making it there than in a violent situation like the NFL.

still don't understand why he didn't pursue a baseball career after that accident.
