Always amazes me when people dog Religious people. Lange says God Bless after every on field interview. Obviously he is Religious.
That was a nice pregame moment by Dunn/Lange. I assure you it wasn't for the cameras.

Yeah, OK ... settle down, Tebow.

Do you not watch his interviews and hear what he says? He's a religious guy. He's not a Tebow and nor am I. He prays a lot more than I do, though.

Most intense prayer ever

Whatever it takes to get them motivated. Some kids need a god arse chewing or cussing, and other kids or situations call for a hand on the shoulder or a prayer.

I wonder what Dunn was praying. Can someone read his lips?

God does not pick winners and losers.

I pray all the time and I loved seeing these two men praying so fervently. Who cares what they are praying for. That's between them and God

Not in sports.

My guess is that they prayed that Lange's actions in the game, regardless of outcome, would bring glory to God or something like that. Also, probably asked God to help keep Alex calm and focused.

Are we allowed to use the word prayer on this board?

Pray for strength, integrity, character, perseverance and grace. Not wins or plays, that's just not how it works.

How so? Maybe you need to work on reading comprehension, and not being so knee-jerk defensive.... I didn't say anything specifically about our guys; my comment was totally generic concerning praying and sports - I find it distasteful, whether it's Tebow kneeling to ask God to push a field-goal wide right, or some victorious athlete post-game saying "first of all I'd like to thank Jesus Christ...."
The idea of divine intervention affecting the outcome of a sporting event goes against everything we'd like to believe about the nobleness of fair competition and a level playing field. We don't want the refs or umpires having an undue effect on an outcome or giving an unfair advantage to one side; surely we would hope that the Lord stays out of it and isn't picking sides?
That's all I'm saying. It's not anti-religious.
