I would prefer that God keeps His hand out of sporting outcomes, and allows the winners/losers to be settled on the field

They weren't necessarily praying for a certain outcome.

Have you never heard of praying for the safety of players in the game and other like matters?

I don't think God cares about your preference. Pretty sure He does what He wants.

I'm sure they were praying for all the little children who are fighting cancer. To imply they were merely praying for themselves to win a baseball game is ridiculous and makes our LSU Tigers look stupid.
