Hey guys, sorry for taking up a post. In Austin for a bachelor party, and I came here once a while ago and watched an LSU football game at a certain bar. However, I forget where it is. Any help would be awesome. Thanks.

Where to Watch LSU

quote:

Austin: Shoal Creek (on S. Lamar) or Lavaca St Bar (4th & Lavaca)

That page may be out of date (never been to Austin so I have no idea), but it's a good place to start from.

Lavaca st bar, has good grub and is an LSU bar in austin tx. I watched the Lsu vs South Carolina game there last year when I was in town for Austin City Limits.

Don't know which one but a LSU alum runs the pluckers there and I've heard it's pretty cool during games

Lavaca St is more like an LSU watch bar -lite. watched a couple there this year and was small percentage lsu.

Shoal creek is more of the south LA theme, but not a good spot for bachelor party stop unless you were watching a saints game or something

Agree with this. Watched a game here last season. No insight on other bar suggested.

Shoal creek is the one I've been too. Got a lot of LSU and Saints stuff hanging on the walls. There's a restaurant by there called Bacon. Fantastic breakfast/brunch.

Agreed. We had a good time at Lavaca, good food, but it was pretty weak as far as the LSU crowd. It was a little disappointing because they even had a big area roped off for LSU. I have no doubt that because it was an OOC rent-a-win that it didn't help the cause.

That's really the only place to go.

Shoal Creek however sucks arse, even though the ambience is not bad. Owner is a total POS and is just taking advantage.

Georgetown TX. Used to work at the Ford dealer there. That town has changed a lot since this nineties.

I lived in Austin for over a year.

The only place I knew of was Shoal Creek Saloon. Theres a big VW Bug painted as a Saints helmet out front and they play the Saints and LSU games. Really more of a Saints place. It gets wild for Saints games. The seating out back is great but the glare on the one TV can be bad.

Ive had to ask for them to put on the LSU baseball games though. They always had the Longhorns and Frogs playing baseball on their TVs but they always put the game on for me on at least one of the TVs. If you go for a Saints game befriend some Saints fans there as I would imagine most of them are also LSU fans and then get together with them there for the LSU games and maybe they will put the game on their big screen in the side room or out back.

I used to rush out of work to watch the Saints and LSU games there every weekend. Their chef is from the Westbank so the food is legit. Hes actually the one that convinced the owner to make it a LA sports themed place. Its LA cuisine. The hushpuppies are fantastic.

I'm surprised at all the Shoal Creek recommendations.

Lavaca St. Bar is much better in my opinion. They have good beer specials, hand out free purple shots, and play the fight song when LSU scores. The atmosphere is way better at Lavaca.

I agree. Shoal Creek is a depressing place IMO. The food is not that good and they have a weak tap selection. You'll get a younger and louder crowd at Lavaca.
