As if our offense wasn't predictable enough...

What's with the fullback pointing to the tailback which way to run? I've noticed this ALL year in EVERY game. They line up and get set and the fullback reaches behind his back and points to the fullback which A gap to run to. When he does this it is a run up the middle EVERY SINGLE time. All the defense has to do is stuff both A gaps and the play is dead. It doesn't get any more obvious than that.

You say this as if the defense gains some sort of advantage from it. They know we're running it up the middle long before the fullback signals. And if they're wrong and we pass, well you know how that goes.

You have a valid point but this takes any and all doubt away. I have watched this since game 1 and it never fails, A gap dive 100% of the time.

They've actually been doing this for the last few seasons. It's actually amazing we've been able to run as well as we have...

Fullbacks have been doing this at LSU for years. This is not something they implemented this season.

It really is pretty bad.

As others have said, not new to this year.

kind of makes you think the RB's are crazy, they should know we are running middle or left every play.

They've actually used this as a decoy multiple times this season. I don't remember any particular successes from it, but they have done it.

ETA: I always like to look for "tells" like this, and I'm amazed that sometimes teams are too pre-occupied to notice. Another of my favorites (and Brandon Allen was guilty of this) is that sometimes QBs put their mouthpieces in only for passing plays and keep it on their facemasks for run plays.

we've been doing this for yrs, and the way the FB signals isn't always the way the TB runs. I've seen the QB signal to the RBs, and then pass.

If you can stomach it and you want to get a good analysis of how predictable LSU's offense can be, go back and listen to Brock Huard's commentary during the game.

there is no attempt at misdirection with the offense.

it stems from a very arrogant head coach
