Arrogance and Arkansas

This is not a flame at Arkansas, though I can see how I mislead you. This is sort of a flame to us. I see alot of people saying "Don't care about Arkansas, we'll win". Even on a couple local BR shows they're casting aside the Arkansas game like it's a easy W. I recognize we don't play on the team, we can talk whatever noise we want. We can be worried or excited it does not matter.
However, it seems we've had this same line of thought about Arkansas the past couple of seasons and yet here we sit with each contest being by a close margin, and our team themselves 1-3 in the last 4. I think Arkansas deserves their credit. Have the struggled against weaker competition? Sure did, but they came out with Ws. I seemt oremember our own squad doing just that last season.
I for one take Arkansas pretty seriously. I think we will win the game, but I am not just blowing this one off. Huge game, and everything is at stake.

There is no question in most Hog fans minds that LSU has EARNED the top spot this year and has every reason to be confident about a win. I think most of the country feels that way. On paper, LSU IS the better team.
What I have found to be amusing is the arrogance and posturing that Arkansas doesn't even belong on the field Friday. As though we were some sort of Conference USA team trying to beat our chests about some win over Tulsa or Vagina Tech.
We know the pecking order in the SEC right now- and we are 3rd. But 3rd in the NFL Subdivision known as the SEC West is still better than just about anyone else in the country.
Are we on par with LSU yet? Not consistently, but we are getting closer in years 3 and 4 of the Petrino regime and one undeniable truth for whatever reason, Petrino seems to get in Lesters jorts and find a way to win.
I hope the team comes in with the same arrogance that I have seen demonstrated by the fan base, although I think they know we can compete. This series has been close in most years and the stakes seem to get higher every year- this year having the greatest implications to date.
Go Hogs and I hope we bleaux the tiggers off the bayou.

I might take this more seriously if Arkansas hadn't gotten sodomized on national TV by Bama. 38-14. You didn't belong on the field, as it turns out.

No arguing that. As Barkley would say, "we looked turrible" in that game. The basis for Petrino believing that we had a defense that could compete w/ Bama and LSU was an improved defensive line. Both starting DE's (which are healthy for the LSU game) did not play in that game.
Where I think the Hogs have to be concerned is with LSU's D-line vs. our OL, which is very young and got exposed in the BAMA game. If the OL is improved, this will be a good game. If they are not, LSU will handle us.

well last season LSU kind of played to the level of the opponent. think R-kansas is much the same.
don't think for a minute either team is taking this game lightly. this is for all the marbles for LSU. win mean undisputed west champion, otherwise three way split. I want to see a repeat of the past dominating type play in previous games. time will tell, i don't think les is going to have to do lot of work to get team fired up for this one too much on the line to not go in with all guns blazing
