Does anyone have the still shot from the tv coverage of the catch showing 4 seconds on the clock? Thanks in advance.

I don't but everyone made such a huge deal of there being 1 second left and we could have lost, etc while it shouldn't have even been close to 1 sec

Catman thanks! And, yes, anytime I can shove something in a friends face when he is wrong, it most definitely matters.

If he missed the pass there would have been FIVE seconds on the clock. In the image there was 4 seconds left and he already turned over.. If its incomplete then the clock stops and LSU trys the FG. THE GAME WOULD NOT HAVE ENDED if he missed the pass.

Believe me I tried. Guess I didn't type in the necessary description to pull up the pic. Not that great at the web.

I still think its a terrible play call and even worse execution.

Why let that much time expire before snapping the ball?

Dont forget the clock doesnt stop the instant the ball passes the reciever. If that ball is batted up or tipped the clock could have easily run out.

Too much risk, QB slips, ball batted, interception etc.

It worked though!!

So a tipped ball has the same hangtime as a punt?

Last night on "The Experts", they all agreed that Spurrier made the right call v. Kentucky, but it was just a bad pass. In the next breath they said Les made a bonehead call v. Auburn, because there would have been no time left to try the FG. IDIOTS!!!!

Not one of them pointed out that Spurrier put himself in that stupid position by calling his last timeout to run that play when they had an extra down and he could have had Garcia spike the ball to stop the clock.

Oh noooooooo! Spurrier is a genius. Les made the same call and he's a fool.

'TARDS.

I have to tell people all the time about the time on the clock as well and how everybody but Les Miles on that play is an idiot.

It is crazy that Les Miles get labeled with the crazy gambler label all because he correctly thought it is better to have two shots at a score (td then fg) vs just the fg!

Thats exactly what I said!!

If you think it was a good play to call in that situation then more power to you powerman.

REALLY? And what part of the play didn't get executed? The touchdown? Or the point after?

I agree. It was an exciting as hell outcome, but I think running to the middle and kicking the FG is the proper call.

You just dont't get the essence of the Hat. The Hat's genius is in doing what is unexpected quicker than anyone can discern what the hell is going on, which leads to success. And he knew that he would have a FG shot available if it did not work.
