You went to another college?

I'll answer that question with an unadulterated "YES" for myself. But, I am wondering how LSU fans who went to LSU view those of us who went to other schools for different reasons. My family was from Louisiana for generations and I was born in Louisiana, but I grew up just over the state line in Mississippi. When college time came around, I went to MSU because of in state tuition, but pulled for LSU the whole time. But there is still a place in my heart for MSU and they are my second favorite team.

How do other fans deal with a true allegiance to LSU, but a secondary allegiance to your alma mater?

Just do like you did. Go to a college without a football team

as a 5th year sr...i could care less whether or not you went here

i mean certainly you would be more deserving than the LSU student who suggested TS be turned into a planetarium...or the ones who only know what a football is because the players from their HS team pegged them with them during P.E.

In my opinion, some of the most die-hard fans never attended LSU. I also know some people who graduated LSU, but are not that interested in LSU sports or the University itself. They almost treat LSU like some may treat highschool, kind of like a stepping stone.

I'm probably going to go somewhere other than OSU (still in HS), and you better not say I'm not a real Buckeye fan.

As an LSU student I don't think attending LSU should be a pre-requisite for being a "real" LSU fan.

I think most LSU fans who attended the school love all of LSU. I love to drive around campus any time I'm in Baton Rouge and see the changes around campus. Alot of walk on fans only love the sports teams and have no clue about the "school."

I greaduated from Cal State Fullerton, but consider myself a tiger fan! I lived in Louisiana all my life, went to many LSU games, including the earthquake game. I am a huge LSU football fan. I split my allegiance during baseball season with Fullerton being my favorite team and LSU right behind it. Fullerton has no football team so therefore, I don't have to split allegiance.

I say yes. For me, im considering LSU and UL. Im not a fan of UL, but ill support them.

To me, this question is like saying, "Are out of state LSU fans REAL fans?" Yes, they are

Yea, but there are a lot of other dumb asses who seem to think otherwise. Some of them on this site.

LSU is a state-wide institution whether people went there or not. In many ways it really is a flagship for the State and a hallmark of excellence in which many native Louisianans take pride. I know I do.

Was going to go to LSU, but went to Northwestern St. for a frickin girl. Always been a HUGE LSU fan. Parents have had season tickets for years.

We broke up shortly after starting school, but I stuck it out at NSU instead of transferring (I did go to LSUE for a year?). Oh well. I did meet my future wife in Natchitches. Fact is, no one out here in SE Houston will challenge the fact that I bleed P & G, regardless of where I went to school.

I've been to 3 LSU games in Tiger Stadium in my life. The first one was the Earthquake Game in 1988. Unbelievable. I was just a teenager, but I will never forget that night!

I have multiple degrees from LSU, and there are plenty of DIE HARD fans that never attended a single class at LSU. In fact, I have several friends that are LSU through and through despite never attending LSU.

I agree with Cornholio there are many people who went to LSU who feel that if you didn't attend the University or are out of state that you don't deserve to be a "True Fan." I made the decision to join the military and it has been my career for the past 12 years so I never attended LSU as a student.

LSU is bigger than where you have a diploma from.

I too went to school in Natchitoches. But I can tell you every Saturday night we were all huddled around a t.v. watching the Tigers play instead of being in Turpin Stadium. LSU is our state school. You don't have to be an alumn to be a rabid fan.
