I'm all for staying to cheer the Tigers on, but I was livid at the effort and coaching that was present on the field Saturday night. I have no issues with people leaving that game early. Maybe it will send a message to Alleva that shite needs to be adjusted.

In almost all cases I tend to agree with quotes like this...but there are times, and I think this past Saturday was one of them, when it seems clear that the coaches are hoping for a miracle rather than trying to change and force one. At that point, they are playing chicken with a fanbase and it rarely works out well for the staff.

Rightly or wrongly, many in the LSU fanbase are still holding a grudge about 1/9/12 and any time it looks as if LSU has essentially thrown in the towel by virtue of losing AND not altering the plan to try and right the ship, people will starts to freak out and then leave.

Blaming the fans for not sticking around for what looked to be more of the same until they went desperate is asking too much.

I never leave early, but I don't care if others do. The truth is that the stadium is too big. If in an alternate universe there were no college stadiums and every college had the budget to build one for their football teams, there probably wouldn't be 10 stadiums with more than 70k.

Never makes sense. It isn't the fans' job to do anything they don't want to do. If they don't want to stay the whole game, they won't, and the rest of us will deal with it just fine.

Fans can do what the hell they want. But since ESPN was nice enough to replay the game last night, I watched the last few minutes. You can bet your arse if LSU would have pulled off a miracle the pundits would have been showing the empty seats and taking shots at our fan base.

I believe 100% that the players at LSU could have won that game. I also believe 100% that the coaching decisions hamstrung the team and invited the loss.

Want people to stay? Put a product on the field that isn't embarrassing. I can handle losing. I can't handle beating our collective head against the wall behind a strategy that flat out isn't working.

I mean, shite, why does a place like LSU just not have the ability to open up the offense without a 6'5" arm cannon and 1st round wide receivers? So many are doing more with less.

I stayed until 7 minutes left in the 4th QTR.

LSU played 3 minutes out of 60. I think I did more.. But thanks.

I guess I can expect LSU to play for 53 minutes then.. That fair?

I stayed the entirety of the game, but I was too drunk to remember the comeback.

This is a joke. I've left maybe 3 games early in my life, this being one of them. I can handle losing. What I can't handle is not being competitive and showing the resolve to make adjustments. Watching that game was like hitting myself in the head with a hammer.

Les should be embarrassed by this style of play. But he isn't.

I've been one of the positiger, sunshine pumper, Les defenders his entire tenure here, but it's getting old. Opponents are teeing off on our 3rd grade gameplans.

10th season with Les at LSU. 5 different OC's. Same shite nearly every year. Les has had three good QBs in 10 years. JaMarcus for two seasons and Matt Flynn for one, both of whom can be attributed easily to previous coaching staffs or Jimbo Fisher. ZM is the only good QB we've had since them and even he could be argued to be the product of other coaching staffs, but he was mediocre until Cam came.

Time to get Les out of the playbook, it's been said every year since he's been here. Give Cam the reigns or Cam should nut up and tell his boy Les he's out of here.

So what you are saying is that you are a fan as long as the team runs the offense you want?
Pass first is the answer though. The Saints are pass first and are undefeated and....................... oh.......................wait..................nevermind.

Terrible last couple of paragraphs of a column. The fans owe the players and coaches nothing. The fans pay their money for the tickets, they can do what they want from there.

This is not rocket science to anyone other than someone who probably hasn't bought a ticket and sat through the fan experience at a game in 30 years, but the traffic makes it a giant pain in the arse to stay for four quarters. I'll also bet that some folks get to the game late because they can't tailgate and can't physically get to the stadium because of the traffic. If the game isn't in question, why stay? The game was only close at the end because Dan Mullen is an idiot, the same idiot whose staff outcoached Les Miles' staff Saturday night.

Furthermore, if the coaching staff comes in with an uninspired plan and the team plays uninspired football for three quarters, then why should folks stay and get stuck in a traffic jam of an hour or more postgame? That's a sucker's mentality.
