No. We need to run mostly Hill and some McGee. Blue and Hillard can be used one or 2 plays a game but that is really all we need from them.

If we run draws or in the spread. When we needed 2 yards, the big set left a lot to be desired last night.

we'll probably use 2 mostly, with a 3rd sprinkled in. Hill will get most of the carries, and I think the other 3 will kind of be a week to week thing.

I know everyone wants to write Hilliard off, but thru the first few weeks of last season he looked to be on pace to have a really good yr. guess what I'm saying is that it's a long season, and guys can move up and down the depth chart.

Magee and Hill all day. Magee has been waiting to prove he his capable of big play. He definitely proved himself.

the rant loves blue, he can do no wrong in its eyes and deserves numerous chances.

fwiw i do like blue but i also realize he isn't our best back. hill is clearly the best back.

I don't get the hate for Blue. TCU sold out on the run and Blue still made some nice runs when he wasn't getting gang banged in the backfield.

LSU is going to rotate early and often and destroy some D lines this year.

his runs were ok, he showed some flashes but its more about his messing up the screens, missing the blitz and fumbling.

i like blue but he isn't our best back

Magee is the best available. Whenever we start seeing hill again I'll reevaluate but for now, it's magee's time to shine.

I think CM will use whatever best fits each game. However, imho Hill is obviously the most prototypical "NFL" type running back, with Magee being the RB that softens the defense, Blue being the homerun threat when the defense gets tired, and Hilliard being the guy in more goaline and short yardage situations. Regardless, the good thing about it is that it gives Defensive Coordinators alot of variables to think about, and depth at that position is always necessary.

Blue whiffed on blocks, getting mett sacked

Fumbled, giving TCU a cheap TD

Ran slow and went down easy

Clearly, a coaches pet.

Historically speaking, we'll see a bit of all four (and need all 4) over the course of the season.

Fresh legs in the 2nd half of the season are a nice resource.

I'd like to see Blue (the player he was before being injured) line in up the slot as a receiver.

Hill has been the best back and should be the man, but you have to be careful with relying on him too much because if he messes up again, he's through. Magee showed a lot last night and should see a lot of playing time as a result. He's tough.

I think Hill, Magee and Blue all need touches in different situations. Hilliard couldn't get much last night, but hopefully he'll come along as well. He actually had a better ypc average last year than he did his first year. But he seems to be getting most of the yards against inferior teams. He needs to build up some more steam and run some people over like in his freshman year if he wants to get more touches.
