Just heard Chuck Smith (former Vol and Falcon) say that the best draft eligible DE today was Myles Garret. But he also went on to say the best DE hands down in the league was Arden Key, said he had the kid at his camp in the offseason and would be a 10 sack guy in the league today. Was just cool to here the kid getting that much love as a sophomore but I can definitely see why.

I heard it all here in Atlanta on a local sports show called Dukes and Bell.

Guy is an absolute freak, sky is the limit . If he can gain say 20-25 pounds without affecting his 1st step I could say there's a shot of him going 1 overall after next year .

He's Randy Gregory without the issues and what Mingo should have been except for the Browns.

Dudes a beast and working hard has taken him a long way in 4 games.

We can thank Coach O for that

I know Coach O deserves a lot of praise, but Arden was highly developed coming out of HS. Coach O just refined his already great technique. I made a long post last year about how great his hand placement was and it was insane seeing this 217lb DE throw guys around weighing 300lbs. Arden isn't very strong but his knowledge in leverage and hand placement is next level stuff.

And now he's getting coached up by Pete Jenkins. His athleticism is off the charts, some of his sack celebrations are just as impressive as the sack or tackle.

He could be the #1 pick.

He may be the best pass rusher that LSU has ever seen. The kid is a freak. A 6'6" human being moving that fast doesn't look natural.

And if he by some miracle would have, he wouldn't progress for shite... Brick was a terrible coach; Mingo could've been great if he was taught a little technique to go along with that athleticism.

At first he reminded me of Mingo based on body type. I think Mingo was maybe a little faster, but Key's instincts are amazing. That's really what has separated him.

Will he break Oliver Lawrence's single season sack record of 12?

He's highly talented no doubt, but wasn't he Coach O's 1st recruit? Brick would not have reeled him in.
we heard almost nothing about Arden until O got hired, and iirc the first thing he and Steele did was head to Atlanta. we went from 0 to a commit in like a week.

Key leads the nation in sacks btw

and is almost a sack per game better than garrett (1.63 v 0.75)

hes got 6.5 now, in 4 games, with 8 to go (not sure if the bowl counts. 9 to go if it does. 10 when we make the playoff)

Plus Key missed most of Summer camp, he barely even worked with Orgeron last year and was still a beast. I even read an article his past fall camp where freshman Sci Martin was giving him pointers on hand placement. So Key still has more potential to unleash on opposing offenses.

Chuck prepared Key for LSU. They trained together during the summer while Key waiting on his eligibility status.

Don't even get me started on Sci Martin, man. Once he's ready, he'll be even better than Key.
