University of Oklahoma is called OU?

University of Louisville is called "U of L". So that means that "UL" is available to be used by any college that wants to scoop it up.

Not really irrelevant. You'd be a fool to think these polls aren't used as a guideline to most, if not all, of the playoff committee. You think they just ignore them for weeks?

I think the committee doesn't give a hoot about the polls and gives them no weight. Much like the March Madness selection committee. Who pays one bit of attention to the basketball poll?

Everyone realizes that polls are absurd and that voters spend very little time on their ballot and don't watch or analyze more than a few of the teams they're voting on. They just look at the records, the scores, and the conference and that's it.

Polls are a ridiculous absurdity, and I'm glad their time has come and gone.

TCU and BU are #2 and #4 with years of recruiting classes ranked in the 30s. They play in a very weak league now with UT and OU down so for them it all comes down to the game with each other. How do you think they'd do in the SEC West?

They get players that fit their style. I think both would be very competitive in the SEC West

Fine by me we get to work our way up. If we beat state, aubbie, we will be top 10 by week 3-4.

What then would their system look like if they were recruiting top 10 classes every year? It seems you're making the argument that their way is better than ours and the rest of the West if they could effectively compete with lesser athletes.
