Anyone think the Aranda hire affects Beckwith decision?

It sounds like he is at least thinking about staying. It seems like he might get excited about playing a year in Aranda's system.

It should. He would be getting excellent coaching in the mental aspect under Aranda and considering he's only played a year of Mike, it really should sway him.

I imagine Aranda was in that meeting today with Beckwith about his decision. In person or on conference call.

Aranda's scheme plays 3 down linemen with 2 LBer's rushing the QB from each side. Tricky part about that is the opposing team doesnt know which backer to account for. Anyways, Beckwith was a DE his freshmen season who has great athleticism, flexibility and pursuit - Perfect for Aranda's scheme.
Prior to the bowl, getting Beckwith to stay was important moving forward to next season. Now with Aranda and his philosophy, it's not doubt Beckwith is the top priority from now until the draft. He would be the opposing QB's worst nightmare come 2016 season, without question.

Sure hope he does. Best linebacker we've ever had. I'm not all smitten with the present. Write it down. If he stays another year, he will go down as the best LB to play at LSU. Fingers crossed.

Yes, and I think it will affect a lot of future decisions in a very positive way regarding recruiting and coaching.
